Just wanted to let everyone know that Penny and I are going on vacation next week. I'll be here today,tomorrow and then Monday and Tuesday next week. Then I'll be gone until the 11th or so of Aug! Soooo, if you need/want anything, give me a call before I leave or, unless it's an emergency, call after the 12th of Aug. If you need something while I'm gone and need it right away, call and talk to Z or Ray in the parts dept. Make sure to tell them you get the discount and have him fill out a web order sheet and put it in my office for me. I am REALLY looking forward to some time off. This year has been really tough on both Penny and me so far. I actually will get to see Penny for more than a day or two per week!!! I will be taking my laptop with me and checking in a couple times while I'm gone. Some of the caffeine sludge places have internet so I can check emails and the web while Penny gets her morning fix. After next Tuesday please use my rdcapt@hotmail.com email address if you need to get in touch with me. Dave -- leave the laptop behind, bro -- it's a vacation, and belive me, some sunny day when you're cleaning your old antique tricked out XB12S, getting ready to take it to the antique bike show, your retired ••• won't be thinking, "gee, I wished I'd take the laptop with me on vacation more . . . " also, like Dyan said, we need, all of us, to be careful out there -- better to arrive a little late with a smile than . . .. oh, nver mind, have a great time and ride safe | ||

Bomber...Dave is still young and, concerning the laptop, hasn't figured out how to cut the cord yet unless it was an agreement for him to take the extended vacation in peak season. | ||

Nope, no agreement needed. All my idea,Terry doesn't even know I'll still be on the job a little bit. I admit it, I'm a workaholic. Part of the price I pay for having a job that is so closely related to what I enjoy. That's one of the reasons that hunting,especially bow hunting for deer is so good for me. It has nothing to do with motorcycles and allows me lots of time to think about other things that are important to me. Sometimes I sit quietly for hours,days in a row waiting for a deer to come into bow range. Very good therapy for me. I worked out being able to go on vacation the first week or so of August during the interview,accepting,hiring, period. Aug 6th is our 4th anniversary and we always celebrate it on vacation! The best thing that has ever happened to me(Penny actually saying "yes"  )happened in Vegas 4 years ago and my life has never been better or more on track! So we are going back, staying at a nicer place and will probably celebrate our anniversary somewhere in Idaho or Montana. Ride to the edge! Dave daves@h-dappleton.com | ||

Dave...relax, enjoy your Bride and the vacation and do what you like to do. Bomber and I were just teasing you. I don't know about John, but I sincerely wish I had cut the cord and taken the time to smell the roses throughout my career. I took the money in lieu of the vacations, missed out on a lot and am making up for lost time now. At the moment, it seemed like the right thing to do for my family. Errr...better make that "families" as I lost a few along the way compliments of my career and the travel schedule. Learned the hard way that after a while absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder, it actually helps it wander. YMMV | ||

I'll be taking lots of "relax" time too. This will be the first time Penny and I have ever stayed in the same hotel more than 1 night while on vacation. Going to lounge around the pool, drink lots of diet Pepsi and just take it easy for a few days in Vegas. Dave | ||
