Anybody else going to be there? BMW is the featured marque, so lots of air cooled twins about.

We alway camp at the end of the 1st 2 rows (nearest the back straight). Look for the bike-night.com banner, stop by for a beverage and we can debate the race worthiness of Buells and BMWs and Guzzis and .......

I'll be on an Orange X1 or an ancient KZ 750L3

I'm sorely tempted for Saturday. Anyone else going? What all is worth doing there? The races would be moderately interesting, but I am more interested in the actual bikes. The swap meet sounds like fun as well...

Will be there! Racing Formula 1 and Formula 2 Battle of the twins on Buells, bike(s) #100 (silver S1, black x1), and Premiere 500GP and sportsman350 on Vintage Honda's, bike #74. Stop by the pits...

Reepicheep,
Swap meet is a hoot, racing is great. You can watch a real Buell racer, RacerX1. No debating the race worthiness of his Buells, or his honda for that matter.

There are a sh*tload of bikes there, if you like older stuff. Usually there are more than a few Buells. Here's some pics from 2001

http://66.66.67.254/vmd/gangofbuells.html

The wall of death is worth a look and finally 1000s of people doing motorcycle stuff is always a good thing correct?

DAve, yeah new bodywork, seat, exhaust, powercommander........ all kinds of stuff going on. Its actually running very well at the moment.

RacerX1, I'll be sure to stop by, good luck in the events. Hopefully I won't need to borrow any tools this year

Hey Matt,

Thanks for the (way to) kind words! Stop by for sure...No problem on any tools you need to borrow either....anything to help the cause! S1 is running awesome and we won the last BOT F2 race at Grattan, so with any luck we will get a good result...if not, I'll drown my sorrows at the swap meet. Of course, all my relative within a 500 mile radius are coming so I'm pretty much guaranteed a good crash...

See you there!

Bill...I used to do all the races at Willow Springs until one day it dawned on me that the only thing I liked better than riding was watching the vintage races. Try it once. Even if you never go back you will really enjoy seeing the history whizzing around the track.

you're more than welcome to crash at the tent if you decide to go (and stay, wait this is getting confusing...)

Of course you need ear plugs or heavy drinking to actually sleep near the crew I'll be with

3 hrs, Hell, thats barely enough time to thin the oil out!

if you decide to go email he here Matt's email for cell phone #s

Wouldn't miss it....

Anyone in the area should ride over for at least a day. Kinda like Disneyland though... one day just really isn't enough.

Camping at the track next to the woods (primo spot). I'll be tooling around on my green kdx or the xr-75..

Make sure to check out the vintage flat track races Fri night @ Ashland Co fairgrounds. Well worth the 40 min trip, great vintage bikes.

Last yr it was cold at night,.. firewood was at a premium.

Don't think I will be able to make it after all unfortunately, maybe next year.

Too bad, the idea of seeing an S1 racing was *really* appealing to me.

Thanks for the invites everyone!

Well, another vintage days is gone by. I managed to see Wes (RacerX1) for a couple minutes and Jim Synder (Jssport) came over for a visit. I dind't get to see Wes race as it was raining pretty hard.
Wes, did you get to race? How'd you do?

Saw maybe a dozen Buells. I saw somebody buying orange body work for an M2 maybe. A sweet S1 and a color matched (red) X1. There was a parkway blue S2 roaming around also.

Demoed the xb12s, power is great as are the brakes. Still a little small for my tastes, but definitely fun . Just mist 3 digits during the test ride. Gotta love those vintage days Buell rides!

Good to meet you Matt,... I had a great time.

The Fri night flatrack races were great! My buddy won the 250 sportmans class by inches on a supplied Can-Am (also won Cridersville event Thurs night), and came in third in the other 250 class on a 175cc bike (250 Can-Am not eligible there?).

I sold my Z-50 and used the $$ to buy my friends Xr-75. Some of our crew had a vendor booth and sold lots of old dirt bikes.

The best part of the event are the people who attend. The bikes and races are great but when Vincents, RZ500's and 30 era BMW's start to become common place, it's the people who really make this event go.

I had a great time,... again.

Hey MBsween....was great meeting you. Had a fairly succesful outing. Did well on the vintage bikes (1 win, 2 seconds, and a 4th) and just struggled with the Buells. The 'A' bike was running awesome in practice but blew a head gasket when a cylinder stud pulled out of the case. Was running in 3rd place on sunday on the 'B' bike when the exhaust broke on the 3rd lap....eventually finished 5th. Was hoping for more, but can't complain too much. Had a riot and it was great seeing all the cool bikes/people.
