Over on Sacborg a guy called Modesto and was told that they were going to drop Buell. Sounds like the beginning of the Apoclypse. |

Bob Dron in oakland dropped buell about 2 years ago, a year after I bought my bike from them. I was a little ticked, but I think the techs have to hold certs or they cant work on them. So Why sell what you cant work on? |

Not true about the cert for the techs. GGHD says they have no techs certified but will still fuck up my bike. Oh I mean work on my bike. |

I too bought from Bob Dron about 3 years ago. I have made Modesto my place, and I will be sad to see them drop Buell. Apparently we need to realize that Buell needs not only a different dealership network than Harley folks, but that they also need to be managed by non Harley folks as well. BTW, Modesto is a shining example of what the Buell dealer needs to be. Well, this is sad news indeed. |

If Modesto is the model, and if Modesto is dropping the Buell line, then this is not a good model, and is not a good thing. What is done internally at the Corp level when a dealership decides to drop a portion of a product line, or was this directed/suggested for them to do? Regardless, I guess they've added the parentheses (Buell) and just have to clean house a bit before hitting the delete button.

mike both me and dave used their example to do right. I hope they reconsider but it could be a lot of factors involved here that we are not privy to |

...Puttin' out fires..... Modesto (Mitchell's) was one of first Buell dealers to come on in '94 when the organization got a big boost. We will be a Buell dealer until there is no more Buell line. And don't read into that sentence either, I don't know if that's going to be this year, 50 years from now, or never. As long as Buell is making bikes, we will be a Buell dealer. yes, bigj, somebody's got some 'splainin' to do. he said / she said -- from the 'Borg: aciurczak Rider Member # 195 posted 04-07-2004 04:34 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm looking for an XB9S Low. I called Modesto Buell on Monday. Me: "Do you have any XB9S Low's in stock?" Her: "No." Me: "When might you get some in?" Her: "Never." Me: "Why?" Her: "Because I'm dropping the Buell line". I have no idea if this was Deanna, but this is a word for word transcript of my phone conversation with that dealership on Monday. If anyone has a line on an XB9S Low, send me a PM, ok? hell, I probably get more notices from Modesto than my local shops. |

Breaking News: I was at Modesto getting my oxygen sensor replaced today and I asked Don (owner) if it was true that they were dropping Buell. He said that they would eventually move Buell to the Mitchell's Harley location, but still service Buell at the Ducati store. Whew! I'm relieved. As I have said before, Don and the crew at Modesto are top notch. BTW, I had my wife meet me there today so I could show here the Ducati Multistrada. This is a versatile two or one up bike. I must have this bike in ADDITION TO my mad X1. I said, "IN ADDITION TO", BigJ!! Go in peace... |

I was a victim of dis-information. For the six years I owned a Buell, Modesto gave me far better service, 1500 miles away, than my local dealer (Bumpas HD/Buell of Memphis). If they had been my servicing dealer I might still own a Buell. Glad to hear they are still in business. They are the best! |

Yeah, I like Modesto Buell too. But when I called to replace my Modesto Buell T-shirt, I'm told that they don't have a T-shirt with Modesto Buell (or Modesto Ducati & Buell, but I wanted the Buell emblem)on it. Now I'm confused...but since I won't have a Buell at the end of the month, I guess it's for the best... |

I don't have a T-shirt from Modesto. You'll never see me wearing a T-shirt from someplace I haven't been. But after this summer, I'll have a T-shirt from Newfoundland! |

Jon; Those Multi's are nice. Make a good all around bike, touring, etc. Just check on the maintainence costs. Moducto should be able to break that down for you. |

Wisconsin, but I have been to dealerships all over the country. I could wear a different t-shirt every day for at least 3 months. Christ when I think of all the $$ I wasted on those shirts |

I have a lot of HD/Buell shirts, too. I always bought them off of the clearance rack. I usually found very cool shirts(to me) on the clearance rack, that no HD rider would wear. |

I gotta 2nd the complaint about no Modesto Buell t-shirts. I was in Northern California all this week on my honeymoon and I dragged my wife to SIX different dealers looking for a stinkin' "Buell of anywhere" t-shirt. I really thought Modesto was going to be the saving grace. I had zero luck. Vallejo HD had a few women's Buell shirts and a few hats, Modesto had a few Buell jackets. What gives? Mike L. '04 XB12R |
