I Have a few spare pieces to practice on, I would like to paint my bike. I have painted on plastic before, luxin plastic (For RC Cars) and the paint for that is "Flexible" paint. Meaning it wont crack, but it will bend with plastic! However, I am not sure of the durability of the paint. If you have painted your buell plastics, what kind of paints have you used? Thanks! |

I painted my front fender (left the disc lock on :< ) with Krylon Fusion spray cans. It is meant for plastic (like patio furniture), and doesn't need a primer. Goes on pretty thin.

I painted my hugger with the Krylon plastic paint, then over it I put a coat of the RC model paint (the brand was Pactra). It has only been on for a while but it went on good and is holding up so far. I used the two paints to get the color I wanted.

Sandblast... Where did you get the Turn sgnals and are they bright enough? I changed out my stock signals, but they are not bright enough during the daytime.

Koz- I got them from a shop around here that sells mostly gear (helmets and leathers), and little stuff like tank bra's and etc. They had several styles and none over $15.00! They seem to be at least as bright as the stock ones. I cant remember the brand name, but if you are interested I'll find out for you. |

P.S. If you noticed the little silver things growing off of the turn signals (on the top, inside), those are just some aftermarket LED's that I wired into my brake lights so I dont get run over. They are blue. |

I had my bike painted by a friend in the business, and he swears by DuPont products. The paint on my plastics and tank are doing great 30 months after being sprayed. The best part was the price - FREE! I did slip him a C-note and bottle of his favorite wine (a half gallon of Taylor Burgundy with a screwcap - go figure). |
