Well, all in all it's not so bad... Like so many out there I am unemployed at the moment so that definatly adds to the stress of getting older, not that 30 is old. My girlfriend has been watching me stress about my birthday for a while, and she did an awesome job of setting up a surprise birthday party for me... so many of my friends came, some I haven't seen in a few years. Anyway, one of the major highlights of my birthday party was the cake she got me, and I thought I would share that with all of you.  She made my day. | ||

I just turned 30 on August 19th. My wife got me good. I came home from work (last Friday) to find 25 of my good friends, family and co-workers in my kitchen. I have never been so surprised. Happy B-Day man! | ||

Thanks everybody... Just_ZipTab, ready to hit 30,000 on the bike soon... was hoping to go out for a ride and hit it on my 30th, but the girlfriend had the surprise party planned. Don't know if you its visible in the picture, but the bike is supposed to be a Buell, I ride a 97 S3 but my girlfriend isn't as into bikes as I am so she just googled Buell and sent the cake maker the first picture of "a red one" like mine. She's so damn cute sometimes. | ||

happy belated birthday and neat looking cake. 30 aint nothing. and as far as the unemployment thing goes. i remember a guy being interviewed back in pittsburgh some 30 years ago saying how he lost his job his home his wife and kids and was back in school starting over. then he said "look what i did my first 40 years of my life, just think what i can do with the next 40" i keep that in my mind every time something doesn't go my way. good luck. | ||

I like that Maxnix, wisdom of age with vitality of youth.... just runnin a little low on vitality, few times over the handlebars kinda saps some vitality away. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone, makes me feel a little more hopefull about the future | ||
