I heard on the local news that H-D was looking at M-Boro TN to move the York PA plant. One other location in Indiana was also in the running. Anybody else hear this?? |

Wow. Maybe they'll let Tom Bumpus run it and Ft_bstrd can be in charge of Buell engine production! |

I've got enough on my plate thank you. We may end up being the tourist capital of the world someday afterall... but please just come for the visit... we really like our little town atmosphere. It would be extremely big news if it happened, but today we are just one of several possible sites. I guess our "Welcome to our backyard" promotion got a little bigger than we thought... T |

They're only talking about it because the Haydens are there. |

H-D just considering options I'm sure. Most likely will stay put in PA. |

Steve: FWIW, the Hayden's are from Owensboro KY, different "boro", different state. My Wife teaches 5th grade, she can help you with your geography if you want ;+} |

Heck - I couldn't even remember whose face is on the $1 bill if it didn't have "Davey Crockett" printed right on it - how you expect me to rembember something as complicated as GEOGRAPHY (or was that Geometry?) |

I live in PA and it is becoming less and less business friendly every day (I own a wholesale plant sales and marketing company). I'm not surprised that HD is at least evaluating leaving. Caterpillar left York a number of years ago (combination of PA taxes and union issues). The powers that be never seem to learn. I hope for all the folks in York that it gets worked out. |

I'm thinking they're considering the move to a Right to Work state to keep costs under control. |

I don't know why I even read the "reader comments" on articles like that. It only pisses me off. Anyone with a keyboard can spew whatever they want. I know we don't always feel it sometimes, but at least the comments here make some modicum of sense. Seems people on this board take at least a few minutes to conceive their posts. Guess I'm spoiled. But man, there are some really not-bright people in this country! ->chellem |

You mean like...You do realize that the two 20th century political movements who were most strongly opposed to trade unions were the Communists and the Nazis?...

West Virginia is open for business! http://www.wvopenforbusiness.com/ If H-D is listening, give Gov. Joe Manchin a call; he rides. http://www.dailymail.com/News/statenews/2009011804 80 If Mountaineers can build cars, trucks, and regional jets, then bikes shouldn't be too tough (only two cylinders, right?). There is that Right to Work issue Glitch brought up, though. Hmmm. |
