Hey there guys - just placing orders for the Fall T-Shirts, and in classic style, they're already on buell.com The new ones are called: Tech Word Pegasus Head (Ladies) Name Stress (Hoodie) Vintage Grunge Pegasus Head (Mens) Crest Wing Buell Buell Swirl Shoulder Banner Vertical Name Buell (Ladies) Buell Stamp (Ladies) Diamond Crest (Ladies) If anyone is bored, I'd love to hear some feedback of what you think of the shirts. We saw 'em in person, and they're all nice shirts. In fact, the hoodie is priced at $40 which is frankly pretty good. Hope to have this stuff in stock in a few weeks - it all features a NEW name drop logo with the new pegasus logo on the back. Cool. I really like the name drop. I know, everyone doesn't like logos, but THIS one is cool. Let me know!!! ->ChelleM |

The new stuff is just OK in my book. I would've liked to have seen more than one shirt offered with the new shield logo and in something other than yellow print.... I'm always down with really cool long sleeve shirts but the new one is just boring. |

Why can't they give us a simple black or dark gray t-shirt with the new Buell logo? I am tired of all the affected, trying-to-be-relevant neo-urban font they are using. I can't even clearly read it. |

>>>Why can't they give us a simple black or dark gray t-shirt with the new Buell logo? Amen. How the heck does a company spend millions REBRANDING themselves and then spit out a catalog with 37 different logos and almost NONE with the new one? Generally (and Buell does) companies have "Graphic Presentation Standards" to insure uniformity and consistency in the use and presentation of their logo. I have to confess that I have no clue what Buell's "corporate identity" is. The new shirts uniformly suck compared to the ones from years ago before it was turned over to the art graduates at 3700 Juneau for "efficiency". |

The shirts evidently exist as shown in this screencap from "the Book of Buell":
There have been some cool "mechanic" type button up shirts seen in some of the homecoming and race photos featuring the new logo too. I'd love to be able to buy this stuff. |

They would not, in that photo shown above, give them to the Buell employees. The folks in the shirts are HD marketing folks. It was not a happy day judging from the folks I spoke to who got the "bring your favorite old Buell shirt" memo. |

Speaking of the new logo, anybody gotten the free decal (that you could order via the on-line "Book of Buell") in the mail yet? |

The girl on the bike above isn't a HD Marketing folk. Neither is Danny Gokey, but he managed to get one. You'd think they'd let us get them at the factory for HC? No. They don't hand us shirts at all. I'm ok with that because of the economy, but its funny how a chick on the back of a bike, who has zero idea what a Buell is, can get one, but folks who would pay for one, can't. |

There was a heavily sedated chick from Harley-Davidson going on and on about who her Dad was and handing out new logo shirts, hats and jackets to some of her Honda riding pals and Gary and Lois Cravillion and I watched. Gary and Lois got none either. It was a really botched deal from all appearances. |

By the way . . in the above photo the guy on the right (circled) is Eric Schmidt . . the guy right above him is Gene Ostrom (head of HD Racing) and I think the guy on the left is Chad, who replaced Laura. They are all nice guys and were not part of this chicanery . . they pretty much are left to do what they are told to do. I wasn't so bothered about NOT getting a shirt as I was the lies that were told. Although, I confess it was entertaining. One moment one of the HD execs told me there were none available. 30 seconds later I'm walking out of the trailer and saw the receipt from the printer in the trash for "100 new Buell logo" items and stuck it in my pocket. 30 minutes later is when the HD folks were giving them out like xmas candy. I'm cool with that. All I'd asked for was a patch because my black Aerostich was in MN being "rebuilt" and I kinda wanted, before heading out to some events, to have the current Buell logo. Some folks were pretty ticked off . . I was merely disappointed. |

I heard that story before Court and it pisses me off to no end. I liked the book of Buell and thanks to my friend I have a hard copy. I DID like the new logo but it now carries a negative connotation for me. FUELL, which has dropped off the radar scope, seems to be reduced to one article that has to be downloaded. I guess everyone that has a Buell has a computer and Internet access. The company that makes FUELL actually got an award for the 25th Anniversary edition. I guess they decided to call that a win and move on to something else. The web site, while redesigned, really needs someone to keep track of the dead links in the owners section and emails addresses that go nowhere. I was excited about the new marketing campaign and received a call to be interviewed by a company collecting data on Buell riders but apparently that fell off the planet as well. While none of this is Buells fault it reflects poorly on BMC. I have learned to deal with this over the years and at times ignore it all together. At the dealership level it is easy for me to dismiss a poor Buell dealer and give my business to a great one. Something happened. I have no idea but the marketing started off great and then just fell off the planet. I couldn’t care less about T-shirts, stickers, hats and patches however, having a new design and not offering them to the owners may hurt Buells image. It is almost like Buell has no to little input to the marketing timelines. Lynn recently tried to order a Buell pen that is in the P&A catalog. This is what she was told. “We will only order those if we know we are going to sell 20 of them.” Well I understand business and ROI but come on. If this is going to be the case then offer the damn items on-line directly without going through a dealership. At what point does the business model destroy a company? We are reduced to begging for Tshirts with the new design. |

BTW: Chellem, you and your dealership are tops in my book. Providing a solution to help your fellow Buell riders. I love it! |

>>>I was excited about the new marketing campaign and received a call to be interviewed by a company collecting data on Buell riders but apparently that fell off the planet as well. I got contacted by the same firm. They were all excited and enthusiastic to capture the essence of the "Buell Owner Experience". I think their enthusiasm and contract expired simultaneously. I gave up asking . . . as my wife pointed out there are over 1,000 Buell shirts in the basement now. I did enjoy FUELL and it was neat to have stuff to send to the troops overseas. It's all good . . . the times are a changing and I've resolved that I'm a bit of a dinosaur from the past. I'm cool with that. |

John F had one of the new hats on at Mid-Ohio, as see in my profile Pic. He said it would be available "soon". Whatever that means. I wish I would have known that my Blast was going to be cubed a week earlier, we would have had more to talk about. |
