this is for my sister. i went up to see her on saturday with my wife and my brother. and even contrary to what i was originally told and even later when my brother had got done visiting her, she seems to be incredibly strong for what she has gone through. my brother is three years younger than me(i'm on the left) and she is a little over two years younger than me.(for those who don't know, she is my adopted sister, my mother's cousin's daughter)  3/4 of her tongue gone and the trakia tube that she is constantly having to keep clear. not very pleasant.  she was up since 630 cooking a ham, making potato salad and a tuna casserole. doing everything that she can to stay moving regardless of how much it had to of hurt. she kept moving by her significant other of 21 years, mike.  my brother called him a saint for sticking with her and keeping her in check so she doesn't let it get her down. they were never able to get married cause from what i understand, her first husband would never agree to a divorce. i've got some choice words about him cause we went to school together but i'll bite my tongue. the thing that gets me the most is that since he is still the husband, he can show up and change anything that she has already done as far as her funeral arrangement goes. the only good thing is from what i also understand is that he is just a no good bum living with his dad somewhere down here in florida and if we're really lucky has a warrant out for his arrest. (as you can tell, i'm not very happy about this) what i would like from everyone that reads this is not to post anything on here cause for one, she has no internet at the house or any cell phones, and because this isn't for me. i would like anyone that reads this the first chance they get, to get her a get well card and let her know first hand that there are people out there that really care what happens to other people. i don't need to know who cares and who doesn't care. she does and that's the bottom line. if someone wants to bump this so it doesn't go into the archives for a while, please post as anonymous. this is my wish and i hope blake and the other moderators honors this wish. i hope to get back up there in a few weeks, god willing to see how she's hanging in there. if i have to, send me a pm and i'll send you a stamped get well card to send to her. this really means that much to me. her address is: Mary Ellen Latine 2671 E. 33rd. Sorry I haven't replied to your email yet. I've been through the mid west and back scoping out jobs. Hopefully I'll have to cast cut off tomorrow...well today I guess. I'll be stopping by a store to pick up the card for sis as well tomorrow. Keep the family's chin up Neil. | ||

This, to me, in one of the high points . . .right up there with the Deployed Badwebbers, of Badweb in 2009. I did something old fashioned . . . I wrote a good old fashioned letter and mailed it yesterday. It'll arrive Thursday. Please keep us posted, I intend to write again. i just want to thank each and everyone of you, especially ulywife(kristi) who had taken the time to send a card, thought of for one moment or said a prayer on my sister's behalf. it's good to be involved with a place that looks out for their own reguardless of the indifferences. this really ment a lot to me and i only wish that it did some good for her too. i'll be sure to let ya'll know how it turned out the next time i get a chance to get up there to see her. thanks again and godbless | ||
