My bro-in-law is looking for flip up helmets and has found a really great price on a Mossi at $100...Does anyone have any experience with these and does the fit compare to another more common brand?... Thanks, Bob |

Just make sure they are dot and snell approved |

My best riding buddy has crashed in two of the Nolan flip up models. Both helmets did their job and stayed closed and protected this head. |

For the modest price difference I would go with the Nolan, you can pick them up for $200. |

I don't think any flip up can be snell certified, they have not defined the tests that the helmet has to pass yet. I have one of the Nolans. Not a perfect helmet, but fantastic bang for the buck. |

Haven't given my Nolans the ultimate test, but I am partial to them. I think I would shy away from any helmet being sold for around $100. SteveH |

Thanks Innes, that is the site that my bro-in-law was looking at...I suppose for the price it may be worth a try but I was trying to actually find someone who had actually used one...But I guess, like me, this must be a very new or unpopluar helmet...Don't know which...I pretty much got the same, "huh?", response on the ST1300 board... Thanks Again, Bob |

You might take a long look at Nolan. Last years model can be had on sale for less than $200.00. Over time my shield got scratched, I was able to buy a replacement shield. Parts are available. Try that with the less popular brands. |

hay newfie, Snell Certification can only be given to a Full time Full face helmet, they will NOT certify a Flip-up, due to the fact that they might open apon crash. I got that stright from a company that does some testing on helmets a few years back, i personally like the Flip-ups... but really am a stickler on the Snell rating myself.
