Al at American Sport Bike has came thru for me and convinced Banke to make him some rearsets. The catch is he has to order four of them. He said that he is willing to stock two sets if he had sales for two sets. The cost has gone up due to starting production of discontinued pieces, from $235 to $295 for the basic kit. If you have the Banke shifter you need an adapter for $135. S3 owners can use the stock over the top shifter but 99 up M2 owners must use the Banke shifter due to bodywork issues. If anybody wants or needs a set of rearsets now is the time. I need help, I really want these rearsets. If I had not spent so much money at Bikeweek I would buy the two sets myself.  | ||

FYI, these parts polish up nicely, and look really nice if you black anodize them. Surely on of you M2/S3 riders out there want to make the seating position on your steed a little more aggressive. I have a set on my M2. They are expensive, but they are great. And it was the ONLY thing I have ever done to my Cyclone that my wife actually noticed. The first time she saw the bike after I put them on, she said "that looks great, whats different?". They add a lot of curb appeal. | ||

If this limited time offer lasts more that a week or so I would like a set. Im waiting on my tax return check and was thinking of getting some rear sets. I guess I need to get the adapter for my 02 M2. | ||

Here are the prices that Al sent me. here are the costs on the Banke rearsets: Peg rearsets: Were $235, now $295 Shifter rearset: Were $295, now $295 Full package (includes brake lever too): Was $585, now $625 Rearset adapter kit (for those that already own the M2/S3 Shifter/Brake lever, includes the shifter offset plate and the new linkage rod: Still $132 I have the Banke shifter and break lever on my M2 already. The shifter works much better than either of the stock shifters. Al needs to know by Monday if this is going to happen. | ||

Yeah, If you have to buy the whole set up it is a fair amount of change. I guess I did the installment plan by buying the shifter and break levers a couple of years ago. | ||

Al, My pitmate at Willow has an S3 streetbike and I let him ride my S3 with the Banke rearsets so he could see what he thought. I'll talk to him this coming weekend to see if he's still interested in getting a set. Steve edited by slaughter on March 14, 2004 | ||

Pic of my S3(Banke) and the R-R customizing set. It looks like theirs doesn't have near the ground clearance Banke does. The location of the R-R looks more like Banke footpeg relocator position. Sry, didn't understand which set you referred to... still think it's nice craftmanship on the RR set! BTW How comfy is the riding position with the Banke rearsets (in Slaughter's pictures)?? It looks kind of extreme in terms of up/back... /Jonas | ||

All the pieces RR makes look very well done and well thought-out. I put the Banke on my bike because I was dragging the stock pegs and wanted the maximum clearance but I believe the position of the RR would be more comfortable for the long rides. I have been in the saddle for 400 miles in a day and haven't been too sore at the end of the day. | ||

Response here hasn't been overwhelming, but I'm going to commit to the 4 sets James needs to do a last build. Once they are gone, there will likely be no more. Gimme a jangle (760-727-2333) if you want one of the last 4 sets. | ||

Al, I emailed Jeff Longbottom to give him a heads up. I let him ride my S3 during a break at Willow and he liked the way they felt. Besides, his racebike has reverse/GP shift and all I did to get reverse pattern was invert the front arm and PRESTO! (he wanted to swap his S3 streetbike over to reverse pattern) Told him to email you through American Sport Bike if he was interested. I'll probably see him at the races this weekend, too. Steve |
