"A driver crashed in front of a laundry in Lindenhurst at the Montauk Highway and Strongs Road intersection. If it wasn't for the rock in front of the brand new laundromat the car would have crashed into the front door. The woman driving said she was trying to avoid another car and lost control."
"This Jeep Cherokee went out of control on Phyllis Drive in Lindenhurst, plowing across one lawn, hitting inflatable Christmas decorations, and onto a second lawn where it slammed into a boat and the side of a house. The driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by the Lindenhurst Fire Department with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the 7:40 a.m. accident."
And my favorite...note the headlights.... "A marine boat in Patchogue at scene where a Smartcar was discovered in the water at the end of Pine Neck Avenue at the boat ramp around 8 p.m. Police were searching for possible victims in the water." |

Had to go another route today because of the LIE crashes. I never get on the main LIE. Just stay on the service road. Much less traffic. I travel from Commack road to Bagatelle Road every day during the week. Had the drifters all around me today. Its dangerous out there. Leave your self a lot of escape room. GL, I have seen some of those accidents in the photos live. I see an overturned car or truck at least once a week. Be safe everyone. They are out to get us. Yesterday morning on my drive in, I pass a Mobil Station on the corner of Old Country Road and the south service road. There was an overturned Jeep Cherokee half on the sidewalk, half on the street with police emergency vehicles all around. I can't even imagine HOW that could've happened! I get on the LIE eastbound at Exit 48. I'll move over to the HOV lane past Exit 49 and cruise on out to Exit 53 (Sagtikos Parkway) where I get off. Most mornings it's 70-75 mph all the way, which is why this morning was such a surprise. The full moon was LAST week, so I have no idea what is going on NOW. |

Lots of accidents = lots of debris. Punctured tires, maybe, causing crashes? That, and all the bad drivers out there on those flat, straight stretches, finally finding a good moment to paint their nails, text, reach for another slice of pizza, etc... |
