I have a Kendon two place folding trailer. I have had it for a couple of years and chose it because I lived in an apartment and it had to fit in the carport and leave room for 3 bikes all in one parking space. I am very happy with the trailer even though it was very costly for an open trailer. Since I bought mine they changed the design to use lots of tubing... even for the rails and ramp. I have had mixed feelings as to if I had a do over... if I would have the old style or the new design. I had also been looking for a platform lift and two things were slowing me down. First the cost... not as much the price but the shipping on the large heavy lift, and the fact the floor space in my 600 sq ft bike shop being "cluttered" with the lift when it was not being used. Anyway... on the back cover of the Winter 2004 HD Enthusiast magazine was a ad for the Kendon trailer AND a bike lift. To make a long story short... I liked the price... the fact it can stand up in a corner of the shop when not being used... and the fact I could buy one at a place close to my house. They list for $749.95 plus shipping... I got mine for $721.00 including tax. Some things for other to consider before you buy one... don't get me wrong... I love the lift so far... just some things to pass on. First... if you have a short wheel base bike like an XB... the widest rear tire that that will fit between the tube rails is a 180 series. There is NO space between the rails and the rear tire! However... if the bike is long... a wider tire would not be an issue and will not enter the tube rails... as there is a wide platform for the rear tire on longer bikes... and there is no problem. Second... there is a front wheel capture "thingie" that pivots forward as you roll over it to lock the front wheel to help stabilize the bike in addition to the tie downs. When I rolled my XB on... it smacked against my chin fairing. I had to trim about 3/4 inch off for it to clear... I have not tried the Blast or a tuber... but they might not have issues. anyway... I thought I'd pass on the information... as other than what is on that ad... there was not much info I found otherwise. Would this have stopped me from making the purchase?.. NO... but here it is...
