Arturo "Thunder" Gatti was found dead in his hotel in Brazil. If anyone ever fought with heart then it was this man. If you are unsure of who this man is then look up the Gatti-Ward trilogy. Even though he was not the best he was my favorite boxer of all time. Always entertaining and a real life Rocky. |

its tragic, i watched him at his pinnacle and at his demise. he was one tough fighter. he never gave up in a fight, even if he knew he was outmatched. the trilogy was the 3 best fights i have seen. i wouldn't be surprised if it was a stroke. he took some beatings to the head in his time. RIP!! (Message edited by spdkls on July 12, 2009) (Message edited by spdkls on July 12, 2009) |

Foul play is suspected, according to the radio report I heard this morning. You guys are 100% correct. Toughest fighter I've ever seen. I was at Mohegan Sun for the first fight with "Irish" Micky Ward. The best fight ever. It looked like the first "Rocky" movie, but in real life. This is a huge loss. |

EPIC battles, the Gatti/Ward fights. 100 years from now they will likely still be showcased as "fights of the Century" A great loss to the sport... |
