Ouch, #84 on the list is a close personal friend of my older brother.

I'm glad Griffey Jr isn't on there. It seems like he might be one of the few clean ones with legit hall-of-fame credentials.

What I don't get is. Babe Ruth broke all his records; smoking, drinking and eating hot dogs while playing, no literally in the dugout and these Douche Canoes Can't do it without roids??

Ugggg

so sad...

The funniest/saddest part about this whole list is THEY ALL KNEW IT WAS COMING. All these idiots had to do was stay clean for this ONE test and they would NEVER be tested ever again. If there was less than 5% of the ballplayers that tested dirty in this one test then MLB wouldn't have a random steroid policy in place. Because these GREEDY morons couldn't lay off the juice MLB now has a steroid policy in place, which I think is great for my favorite sport.

Bunch of jackasses.

I'm glad Jeter's name isn't on that list.

Discuss? Whether it is genuine or not is irrelevant. MLB needs to take a stand on steroids PERIOD! not this half assed crap they are shoving down our throats and saying it's ice cream.

Suspensions may sound fine but don't mean S**T if the stats stay untouched.

Pete Rose is still banned from baseball for doing something that as far as we know never affected the outcome of ONE SINGLE GAME! Roger Maris gets a * next to his name because of an expansion of the league and season?!? Yet these cheating douche-canoes get a slap on the wrist ( and there is no debate whether steroids are cheating or not)!

If you ( The player) Fail a drug test then your numbers for that SEASON don't count .

If they still want to be eligible for the Hall of Fame then whatever, but let them earn that and their place in the game the same way the thousands of non cheaters have, BY HARD HONEST WORK!

It always pisses me off to no end that there are so many players that hustle , play hard and conduct themselves in a manner befitting the pastime only to be regulated to obscurity by the over-inflated numbers that the juice jockeys put up.

Right now the only difference between baseball and pro wrestling is that wrestling is being honest by calling themselves "sports entertainent".

May I ask where you found this list? I've been checking the sports pages and haven't seen anything about this. Just curious, because I always thought there was 104 players that tested positive when the test was taken in 2003. I've been wrong before, however, and could be wrong again here, but I just have in my mind there were 104.

#71,72,73,74,75 and 76 for some reason make me smile.

But, if true, the list as a whole makes me sick.

This is where I found it. My local sports radio show was talking about it this morning and I had to see the list as they wouldn't indulge who was on it.

They should let them all do roids if they want to die early with small nads...who cares? I have never understood the outrage that is associated with people when athletes do roids, or coke or worse...who cares? and Why??? Look I love the Broncos, Yankees and admire many players and racers for that matter, but if they F up I don't get bent...why does this matter??? I am truly asking a question, because I really don't understand why guys that couldn't care less about me or you seem to matter to the people that the athletes could care less about...I just don't get it. They did roids...ok. Rage, acne, bitch tit and shriveled nads on the way...and???

"who cares? and Why???"

Because it doesn't allow hard-working "natural" players to be competitive any longer.

I'm surprised football hasn't started a bunch of testing - no way those guys get beat on for an entire season without some under-the-counter assistance.

The stats. I'm with you Liquor, let them destroy their bodies. It's not my body but, I personally disagree with it because of the stat side of things. Take Bonds...if he did indeed take an enhancement drug he gained an unfair competitive advantage. Say he took them for 10 yrs. In those 10 yrs he jacked 300 HR, if he wasn't juiced that may have only been 150 HR. The record books could potentionaly be screwed!

In my mind, it's kinda like the privateer vs factory team debate. At that level of competition anybody doing roids pretty much requires everybody to do roids to stay competitive. Also don't forget the 'role model' significance. Yes baseball has lost alot of the star power it had when I was younger. However, I imagine it would be hard to tell a son with big-league aspirations to stay off the juice when all the 'heroes' are doing it.

As far as drug use among us 'civilians,' I'm pretty much in the camp with Liqour and firebolt. Who cares? Shoot up and die, it's no concern of mine. Major League Baseball has decided otherwise and it's their show.

I do hate that steroid 'hype' has limited genuine study for real medicine. Sports applications have hindered honest study of steroids and hormone treatments for other conditions.

This is a 'rumor' list is it not? Rumors mean little to me.

x2 PK.
I hypothesize that the stakes are higher with the NFL. I'd also guess that it's much more rampant. There are many other banned substances beyond roids. I'd guess the percentage of football players playing medicated to be x3 that of baseball. Just a completely unsupported opinion of mine.

I say they start a no holds barred 'Roid League and let 'em get at freakish as they please. That would leave the MLB to the "naturals".

Wasn't there a movie that the baseball players had ocular implants that allowed them to react faster to the ball. Hell Xbmacon, lets just start a bionic baseball league! The Lee Majors Major League.

Many of these names won't make the Hall because of the steroid era. Mcgwire has already been rejected, and I'm sure Sosa will be too.

The biggest idiot on that list is Bonds. He was a dominant player without 'roids yet he just couldn't resist. I hate saying that b/c I'm a Giants fan, but he is a complete moron.

"Wasn't there a movie that the baseball players had ocular implants that allowed them to react faster to the ball."

That's an interesting point really. Ever play baseball with glasses, especially thick lenses, then play with contacts?

Contact lenses have definately had a huge impact on hitting. I played college baseball. My first season I hit .287 and had 6 errors. My second season I played with contacts.... .334 and 2 errors.

Contacts were my steroids, and they helped with the ladies.

"who cares? and Why???"

The same reason that I can't keep a fifth ace up my sleeve at a poker game.

The same reason I can't sneak a factory works bike into Daytona Sport bike.(uh uh, don't start!) : )

The same reason I can't use dynamite during a fishing tournament. (ditto.)

Only care about individuals destroying their own bodies when their medical care becomes my financial burden, otherwise have a party and blow your pump. But don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining which MLB is doing to every fan with a cup of their Kool-Aid in hand.

The NFL already has one of the most aggressive drug testing programs out there.

Remember, things that get NFL players thru the season such ad cortazone shots for pain and such are completely legal.

IIRC, not every player in the MLB was tested. So just cuz your favorite player isn't on that list, doesn't mean he was clean. Food for thought.

Well the reason's ya'll give are at least intelligent...I see that Mitch Albom guy on ESPN whining about it and I think he was a skinny little geek that got beat up a lot and still has a lot of hero worship, child like worship, and these guys hurt the value of his CURRENT baseball card collection...I don't know...maybe a pessimist, but I really don't care what most people do, wanna get high and die? Go ahead, shoot roids till your nards are inverted, knock yourself out, wanna lay in the street with a fifth or a bottle of wine while you piss yourself, enjoy, but look for nothing from me to help you...like I said, maybe a little pessimistic....it won't get too bad in motorcycle racing, roids make you gain too much weight...although I am sure something will show up that keeps you light and makes you stronger and have more endurance...as far as the factory works bike in Daytona Sportbike, why would you want to race AMA anyway?...I wouldn't, only flattrack, maybe a TT or outdoor motocross.....but that is another argument...
