COOL bike.Would a bike like that be fun on the street? Or does the gearing required make it dedicated to the salt?

If you're ever out in Boston again

Greg it is geared too and has uses .735 lift cams which is a lot more than you could run on the street. But that does not mean we could not build anything from a bolt-on 515 cc Kit, to a short stroke 600 cc or a long stroke 644 - 730 with shorter cams. I still desire to build a 3.875 by 3.626 for a 700 cc "Street Tracker," with a red line of some where around 8K RPM and serious horsepower numbers, sound like fun anyone? >>>>Front brakes are for wimps.

What would you do with it if you had it at Bonneville?

My favorite Bonneville "stunt" . . . . which the USFRA didn't think as funny as I did. . . was to get in the Lincoln Continental "Rent-A-Barge" . . . .close my eyes, floor it and count to 100.

Think of it as the top of a pool table about 50 miles long . . . . as long as you are pointed in roughly the right direction there's not a whole lot to hit.

Cool, look for Terry and I at ubs with a bunch of Aussies and Kiwis. And some real fast turbo bikes. Looking for 230+ on the 750's and I am going to run the bike naked--see what 200+ with no bodywork feels like!!

Fast,we can do that for you.

Brad and Court, just wish the S-2 was farther along,I am itching to get that beast done. But cannot turn down an opportunity to take a ride at these speeds. Want to be really used to it when my bike goes faster.

Sweet i just found this thread. these guys are number 1 in my book. I would love to come out and see you guys run at the salt flats. I want to hear the bike jim is going to be riding. I have been watching it slowly form and it would be really great to be able to say i was there and saw it run.

I would suspect it would need a very good cleaning...it looks like everything gets a good coating of salt at Bonneville.

If you are talking about getting salted in Florida...just don't ride on the beach..

Firemanjim...the only things between me and a killer Blast are a recovering economy and who can build that stroker crank...I have a bunch of spare engine parts to play with. : )

We use liberal doses of Saltaway(Team Elves sponsor) before and after. Truck has been there multiple times with no noticeable salt corrosion.

Jim,
You beat me to the punch.

I used Saltaway on my bike and didn't have any problems.
The trailer on the other hand.... yikes!
I didn't wash it good enough underneath when I left the flats, I figured the rain and such on the way home would suffice. Wrong!
Holy Crap! Talk about rust...
Thanks God for 3M and rust stop coatings.
