How many firebolt rider do not like the total effectiveness of the Bolt's lighting system? I for one like the way the lights shine on the road but they do not reach the side of the road like a car or truck head lights do...I have been looking for a solution that not only was reasonable in price but looked good as well...I did a lot of searching on eBay and found some small lights but did not want to pay the asking price...I was at walmart and just happened to find a pair of driving lights for $15 they are 2 3/8" wide by 1 1/2" high...Now not only do the lights on my Bolt shine up the road but they also hit the edge road and then some. Here are some pics of them mounted to the bike and the switch where I located it...We all know there is not much room in the cockpit of the firebolt for accessories.
Here is where I mounted the switch...I had to drill three 5/16" holes in the fair mounting bracket and used double sided tape to hold it in place.
Here is where I mounted the driving lights. Right under the stock lights.
Pic. of stock lighting.
And the pic of driving lights and low beam. I feel a lot better when driving down the road being able to see the side of the road and then some...I almost don't need the high beam but do, it does reach out there a lot more. This is the best modification I have done to the Firebolt. |
