Has anyone done the HID upgrade? Just wondering what the benefit is and if anyone has done it on a cyclone? |

Did it to my FXR last year. Better lighting all 'round; most importantly, way better daytime presence to keep the 4-wheelers outta your face. They SEE you. |

Check the BB&D forum. LOTS of Ulys have been upgraded with HIDs. |

Just remember, as you deviate from white, you call attention to yourself for a stop & ticket. |

M2 oughta be easy. I managed to do it on a 9sx, and that has a lot less room behind the flyscreen. You will loose the tool bag stuffed in the Youdude Flytrap though. Sigh. I miss that M2... |

When I get pulled over the last thing they are worried about is my headlight. I ride with a sober club and the cops in this area know us and don't ever bother us |

They probably have some kind of filter over the bulbs to get the colors which will reduce light output. |

"New state of the art color coating process" Copied from the listing. Hopefully it stays on and looks good at that high heat level |

Hopefully it stays on and looks good at that high heat level $10 says the coating would be crinkled in less than 3 months. Any coating on an HID bulb is a bad idea. Whether it is a 6000k bulb, or some odd green bulb. 4300k is the peak efficiency of HID |

I've had this one installed for over a year. http://www.kbcarstuff.com/ProductDetails.asp?Produ ctCode=MC-4K-H%2FL It puts our much more light than my previous PIAA lamp which was a big improvement over the stock. The install is straight forward, you attach leads to the battery, plug into your existing headlight socket and find a place to mount the relays and tie off the excess harness wire. |
