Howdy all! I recently purchased a 98 M2 and love it! I mostly ride the backroads surrounding Orlando. My ride buddies mostly ride R1's, FZ1 and Cow 1500 Meanstreak. I can certainly give those Yamadog's a run for their money and the Cow, well nuff said there! I'm mostly along for the ride!! My question is this... I have been reading alot of posts here, along with surfing the recommended websites and I am having great difficulty in finding a tag relocation kit. Does anyone here have any suggestions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! | ||

Where do you wanna relocate it? I bought a relocator for a Jap Sport bike an modified it for my use, I also removed all the plastic trunk. | ||

Wow, thanks for all the replies! To answer a couple questions back. I'm in search of this kit to primarily get rid of that fugly hunk of black plastic on the rear end. I wasn't sure if kits made for other Buell models would be a fit, form and function match. To tell you a little more about my bike. It's blue with black frame. V/H pipe, Forcewinder and carb jet kit, Manta tank w/cover, Crane Cams ignition module. I've been told that the engine had some work done on it, you can tell just by hearing it. But I couldn't tell you exactly what was done. Thanks again for your replies!!!! | ||

I just cut all the plastic off. Just leave enough for some flush mount turn signals and the top two plate screws. Good to go after that. Alex  | ||

Ah, Alex, you beat me to it. SpinZ: You just need to get an old milk crate, a Saber Saw and flat file. Sit on the milk crate for a while and look at the plastic on the back of your bike. Break out the saw when you've got it all figured out. Thirty minutes later you can topuch up your handy work with the file and your bike will look just like the one in the picture. FWIW: I left enough plastic on mine to use the bottom screws, a plastic license plate surround, and little (but not flush mount) signals as well. | ||

If you supposedly are giving an FZ1 & an R1 a run for their money, your buddies either suck at riding or they are patronizing you. Either one of those bikes will put a serious ass whooping on a Buell in a straight line & in the twisties the R1 is just as good if not better. Not a knock on your bike at all..the M2 is probably the best tube framed bike Buell produced. But lets keep it real here. | ||

Doug, Watch the Storm Front (Orlando and Tampa) for Buell ride info concerning the Lakeland BRAG (if you are interested). A handful of us are usually at Steak & Shake Thursdays (I usually ride a black Bourget there though). Frank | ||

Dynarider, You're right the R1's will eat my lunch quite easily. The FZ1 is a little different story. He will eat my lunch but it takes him a little while longer, I can get about half way thru a 1/4 mile run until he officially hands me my hat along with the finger, LOL. Whereas the R1's expected the old horse to be a cakewalk which gave me a slight advantage from a rolling stop. But it didn't take them long! | ||

The FZ1 is a big bike but it still hauls ass. Over 100mph in 2nd gear & still have some rpms left. The M2 definetly has more torque down low so it will usually get the jump, but once that big bitch FZ1 spins up look out  | ||

Doug, I'll catch you some Thurs. night after Bike Week. I have a part time teaching gig and this term I teach on Thursday nights. Term ends next Thursday though. Be sure and go to Hooters (across from Speedway) Tuesday of Bike Week at 6:00 for a Buell get together (check Storm Fronts). FTD | ||
