Today, I woke up to a water leak under my sink. For the past few weeks my computer has been on the fritz with the internet. I've reset the WEP, disabled, etc. The wireless is connected, but it just says "Little or no activity" It will not connect To top it off, my wife lost her wedding ring. She took it off and put it in her jean pocket. I did laundry and now it's MIA, but it's not in the washer or drier. Where the F did it go? Seriously, WTF? |

Baby steps there buddy, baby steps. First let's get you a beer. Now what's up with the leak. A lot of water, has it been doing it a while? Is it clean or dirty H2O? should be pretty easy. Angle stop or supply or possibly a washer in the faucet? P-Trap issues? Sometimes the flex lines on the wands crap out. All easy. As far as the puter... Sorry, but I'm a caveman and I can't help you. I'm doing this on a typewriter. I find that when I'm most likely to loose things is when I change my routine. Maybe the ring was taken out of the pocket to get at change or a key or something else and set down elsewhere? Maybe the ring wasn't in those jeans at all. Maybe another pair, maybe another garment pocket. A jacket worn the same day. Under the machines? Good luck. |

Now Thump, First off you need to stop and count your blessings. You did wake up. That means all these other little things are not only your responsibility, they are also your fault. Just accept that. Don't say anything that could in any way be considered negative to your wife about that ring. If you do, it will cost you for at least 20 years. That's the only time period I can attest to, cause that's the longest I've been married to one victim. That's all the counseling I've got, maybe I can help more on the practical stuff. Like Sticks I'm no help on the computer. I did finally figure out that the "wireless" connection and the internet are two completely different things. My wireless is perfectly happy with no internet at all. The leak is no problem figure out what it is, we'll tell you what to do with it. Feel free to find my # in the Bran, leaks are my thing. Now the ring. You will undoubtedly find it in the last place you look. Look there first. I had an old dryer once that finally got beyond repair. In the process of parking it out behind the barn, it rattles a lot. I took it all to pieces. I found at least 2 dozen socks. Not a pair among them. That explained one domestic mystery. I also found a bunch of money. Lots of change, of all sorts, several bills of various denominations. And all kinds of small pocket trinkets and hardware. I don't know how any of it got out of the drum. I have also found missing objects wedged under the agitator in the washing machine. Like Sticks said though. It may have never made it that far. It will most likely turn up. At least you know she didn't pawn it on her way to the bus station. Remember those blessings. Rotzaruck! |

I can help on the computer front. Info needed: Does the computer work if directly plugged into your router? Wifi router brand/model? Any new networks in the neighborhood? Computer, desktop/laptop? Brand? OS? |

To top it off, my wife lost her wedding ring. She took it off and put it in her jean pocket. I did laundry and now it's MIA, but it's not in the washer or drier. Doesn't that usually happen the other way around. I had one of those days on Wednesday. Fan shot out on the bolt, found out I order the wrong damn bar ends then walking through the front yard, I step in dog shit. Take a deep breath and let it roll... |

I would use a shotgun on the computer. It will do the most damage, and you will be less likely to over-penetrate and kill the neighbor. As for the house, I would be careful of using any accelerant that is going to flash and get you hurt in the process. Kerosene or Diesel is probably better than gasoline, but I would look it up. Also, remember to leave the windows open or it may just smolder. Air is just as important as fuel. I think that about covers it. |

Damn, and I thought loosing my cell phone was an earth ending catastrophe. Thanks Thump, you kinda cheered me up. Its like listening to the blues, it makes you feel better about your problems to know someone has it worse than you. Just take em on one at a time and it will work its way out....gl |

Killing my neighbor because my .357 over penetrated would have made my day ‘complete’. I’d use the shotgun, but it’s a break open and I’m looking for the cam inside the receiver to open the shotgun. I’d load it manually, but the firing pin is broken too. It’s a pain to find 70 year old shot gun parts… I plan on taking the washer and drier apart to see what I can find. Maybe enough scratch in change to buy a 6 pack. I looked under the agitator (read: felt), and turned it on it’s side in case it was wedged up in there and got nothing. I can’t see how anything could get out of the drum on the washer or drier, they seem to be pretty tight. I also don’t thing that it could have been pumped out with the water. Hell, I went back through all the laundry I folded and put away to see if it possibly got snagged on some clothes. That didn’t pay off either. We’re barrowing a metal detector and going through the garden to see if it’s there. I tried a flash light in the dark and couldn’t find it last night. Update: Scratched the screen on my one week old Blackberry Storm and I can smell coolant inside my car. Lottery is $220,000,000 |

$220 mil? Go buy a ticket! Today is the sort of day you might actually win! When you do win, I want to be flown down for the house burning party! |

I have found socks and larger items in the impeller or my washer before. If you turn int on it's back there should be a plastic casing with two hoses connected to it. Mine had a few snap clips that I just popped off and took the cover off. Try there first |
