You want to talk about going nuts? I already have the bike packed. In 12 hours, I'll be up and champing at the bit. By this time tomorrow night, I hope I'll have looked at hundreds of beautiful Vintage motorcycles (and taken a few photos, as well). On what day and at what time are people going to be in East Troy? |

It was a bad day at work today. Makes this outing even more necessary. |

Might be over to meet you guys at Clem's. Not sure, but I am seriously considering it since others are traveling so much farther than I'd have to (2hr50min). Can't stay the night, but may make a jaunt out there anyway... (Message edited by ponti1 on April 23, 2009) |

Totally agree, but have the whole weekend booked except for Saturday mid-morning through Sunday EARLY morning (charity event setup at 5:30AM Sunday). Also, I'm not on as much of a nice cushy ride like you folks, so my 3hrs is not as far off of your 5hrs as it may seem...Actually wish I had a Uly sometimes, so I could set my GPS to prefer unpaved roads. That's a great way to turn 3hrs into 8 or more. |

Froggy, did you get a chance to look at the GPS route I sent you? |

Cushy ride? I rode 1000 miles each way to Buelltoberfest on a Lightning. XL1200R is about 2 hours further than me, and did it on a XB12R.

Hey, I'm not complaining. I've done several 500 mile days so far, and have another to Homecoming already planned. No real complaints. Just saying, if all things are equal... |

Under 3 hours? It ain't even an adventure :P That's why I'm riding to meet Court and Mike in East Troy and riding back to Clearfield with them. Clearfield is only 40 minutes away from home for me. Court, I sent you a possible different route from point "J" (Moshannon) to Clearfield. It would keep us off I-80, I can lead this route, as I just ran it last weekend, unless we need to make some time up. XB9er/Chris: I just posted the picture of the Pulled Pork to tease you. The best part about the Pulled Pork is when your riding after eating and you burp inside your helmet, the aroma is just like eating it all over again (in a good way)! |

Hay Toona, Are you leaving from your shop on Saturday. Any ideas where to catch up with any riders? Your about 2hr 40min from me. Any departure times [from Bellwood] after 9:a are easly do able for me. I would rather not just ride out for Clems @ 4: but make a day of it. Thanks, Jon |

WOW Day 1 of the BBQ, Buells and Adventurous Burger Ride in. I was "low man on the totem pole" at 375 miles. I left my shop at 12:15. Plans were to leave at 10ish and stop in at Horsepower HD/B in Williamsport and do a demo ride. It was 50-55 degrees and rain. So I did what any good Bueller would do, I put a set of CityX handguards on my bike that I scored in a deal for some Kick Ash plastics. Ended up finishing the install around noon, took a little bit longer because of my bar end mirrors. By Noon, the sun was shining, roads were dry, and I was headed northeast. I slabbed it to Wmsport, the took Rt 15 (nice ride!) and Rt 14 (another nice ride!) to Troy, PA. Got into town at 2:45, gassed up, ate a Milky Way candy bar and then met Court and Mike at 3:00. Took the obligatory pics in front of a building that had East Troy on it. Lets just say that my little "point and shoot" digital camera looks like something you'd find in a Cracker Jack box compared to the hardware that Mike and Court were shooting with. They both ride w/ their camera around their neck and take pics while riding. Mad skill! I'm waiting to see the one that Mike took over his shoulder of me riding behind him! Next stop was the PA Grand Canyon, just outside Wellsboro. Been quite awhile since I was there last, pretty neat. I'm sure it's gorgeous in the fall when the leaves are changing. The trees are just starting to "green" now, so it was still a little "pale". Off to Galeton/Rt 144. Much better ride than Rt 6. Rt 6 was ok, kinda tame, a little scenic. Rt 144 had lots of nice sweepers and a few technical turns. The quality of the road surface left a little to be desired at times, but still worth doing. Arrived back to Clearfield, got Mike and Court checked in at their respective hotels and grabbed a bite to eat at The Arrowhead Restaurant on Rt 322 in Clearfield. Mike and I got one or 2 "Remind me to tell you sometime" stories from Court. A little bit of history between Court and Erik and had a good bacon cheeseburger/fries to finish the day. I made it home around 10 p.m. Mike is meeting me in the morning to go to Tom and Joe's for breakfast, then he's off to Somerset to check in with family and Highland HD/B. Who knows, maybe he'll be breaking in a new Buell on the way back to New York? Plans are to meet up again at my shop in Bellwood around noon and roll out to do a little of the Res Ride route on our way to Clem's. If you are coming to my shop at noon, please post here so we don't leave w/o you. Meet up time at Clem's is still 4:00, but we will probably get there around 3:00 and hang out until 5:00 or so. After that, plans are still fluid, but for those staying in Clearfield, we'll probably do a little scenic route back to there from Clem's BBQ. Sunday, I believe Froggy has a route planned from Clearfield to St. Marys to Renovo to Clearfield. Then to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub for the actual reason for the weekend ride. How's that for a Day 1 report. Make you want to come tomorrow? Heck Yeah! Just tell the wife that you are going to do "a little riding" and that you'll be back by dark. She'll never know.... what happens on the BadWeB stays on the BadWeb, Toona |
