Too little, too late.
Whats up with the tulips?

From what I saw on the local news (an interview with two high school girls who did not know what the tea party was about) the whole thing was not effective. If that is the case nationwide, what is the next step? The local citizens here WILL get behind a revolutionary movement if it's presented correctly.

Went to a local TEA (taxed enough already) party yesterday. It was encouraging to see so many people show up and all the thumbs-up, horn honking of the people driving by.

I went by the one in New York City and took a bunch of photos.

Interesting to see 16 cops in every intersection (stationed 4 on each corner) keeping an eye on these new "right wing terrorists".

I think people need a history lesson on the boston tea party.

Politicians pay no attention to the retards throwing trash into waterways. Since they couldn't find a new symbolic representation of the taxation.

Dam those old Regan lovers are looking like all of the recycled crap coming our of Hollywood.

Crackhead, most of the Tea Parties did not put anything in the water. Quit spewing your ignorance and go ask your representative for more money. Maybe for some spelling lessons, daggum there is a spell check on here.

I attended a TEA party here in wilmington, and YES this "RETARD" threw TEA into the cape fear river.

In that they are going to Annex my area into the city proper, Higher taxes, and little or no change in services I see it as a money grab.

Further One City council member was quoted as saying " We are going to annex a lot of that land down there, If they (the residents) don't like it they can move."

Nice attitude for an ELECTED OFFICIAL huh?

My answer is, when we are annexed I will vote against him in the up comming election.

I will not patronise his business.

I can do that its part of being a responcible citizen.

I caught the one near us on the news last night. It was out local Fox channel, so I wasn't surprised it was on, but there seemed to be a good turn out.

We had a 'few' in the DFW area last night, all made it on to the local news channels.

My plans for attending were rudely interrupted though due to family matters.

One of the major points of the Tea Parties was to let our elected servants, regardless of party affiliation, know that they are being watched & will be held accountable. It's that whole 'silent majority' thing they used to talk about in the not so distant past.

The Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party moniker got its impetus from the 1k+ page 'Stimulus' bill that was passed by those same elected servants with NOT ONE member reading it.

I personally think it's a PERFECT example of the use of our 1st Amendment RIGHT to Free Speech. Kudos to everyone who participated.

I hardly think Tea is the biggest concern of water pollution in our rivers. Please.

I think Crackhead is a good nick for you.

"Politicians pay no attention to the retards throwing trash into waterways. Since they couldn't find a new symbolic representation of the taxation. "

That may be, but I think the bankers and investors of that particular shipment of tea were paying attention all those years ago.

In any event, these were designed to showcase that there ARE people out there who are fed up and disagree with the direction this country is going, and I think they did that.

Why all the negativity? They were peaceful and somewhat effective (in getting attention, anyway). Hopefully it will begin some attitude change with the politicians.

Crackhead, get over yourself.

You may not like and/or agree with the reason for the protest, but it doesn’t negate the fact that it was conducted peacefully, lawfully, and in accordance with our 1st Amendment RIGHT to free speech.

As for the Chesapeake Bay crabs, you can keep them. I never did like them.

as long as nobody is losing money.....nothing will be done.....when you hit someones wallet - they usually change their attitude real quick

Ya'll just mad you don't have Old Bay with your crabs. P_Squared if you haven't been to Baltimore you haven't had good crabs, come up and visit and get some good crabcakes sandwiches: ) Ask any Marylander, Old Bay makes anything good, even spam.

I do appreciate seeing something other than anti-war protests, plus those guys in the 1870s costumes are funny as hell.

So let me get this straight,
Washington DC (the capital of that great land of yours) is next door to Baltimore, if I'm not mistaken, & it's the best place for crabs.
Sounds reasonable, I've always thought of politicians as lousy b*****s.

I've been to Baltimore. Used to go there regularly actually. I used to live in Severn, right behind Ft. Meade.

I moved because MD & I didn't exactly 'get along' well with each other.

And I have a bottle of Old Bay in the spice cabinet, 1 of the good things I got from living there. Still don't like how you folks do crabs though.

at least the anti-war protesters are funny and creative.

FYI: there are soooo many protesters in DC that it becomes white noise. I don't care who you are, just don't block traffic and no one gets run over.

If the politicians were not paying attention(and they were) this event helped to show solidarity on the idea that a smaller more responsible government is what is needed. A large network of people can do alot when they get together for one common purpose.

I truly believe this will help motivate people to call their local representatives and voice their concerns. Democrat or republican it doesnt matter. They can both lose their positions of power.

I'm actually surprised the movement got as much of a turnout as it did. I expected it to be one of those things that gets talked up but never really materializes. I'm impressed. Apparently people really ARE upset enough to interrupt their daily routines.

While this may or may not have been an effective exercise, I believe it's most definitely a sign of things to come. The growl before the bite.

I thought it was neat how many random comments were made that they took a day of vacation to attend the TEA Parties.

I don't seem to remember that being said much on any other protest marches covered by the main stream media.

I was thinking that too. People mad about taxes are people who PAY taxes, i.e., have jobs. That's why I couldn't go. Wonder how many more people would have shown up if not for pesky things like having to work.

My taxes haven't been raised recently.

Who's taxes were raised?
