i dont have a manual. is the oil in the trans the same oil that is the clutch and primary. i am having a brain fart. 00 cyclone |

not usually! engine oil is separate from primary/clutch/transmission oil. you can run the same oil in each, but they are not common, they don't "share" the same oil, if all is working correctly. i run HD Sport-Trans in the primary and Mobil1 Vtwin 20-50 or HD 20-50 in the crank case. others have different preferences. i have run Mobil1 20-50 in the primary with no ill effects, others may disagree. i have run Royal Purple 20-50 in the crank case, with no ill effects. the oil debate can go on forever. to be safe, run exactly what is called out in the service manual/owner's manual. other than that, run what you prefer. The subject of your e-mail confused the question. The primary, transmission, and clutch on a Buell (or Sportster) all share the same oil. The engine oil is separate. |

Like others have stated, the trans/clutch/primary all share the same oil. I run syn 3 in the engine and the trans. |
