From H-DNet: Buell Motorcycle Company appoints Crispin Porter + Bogusky as ad agency MILWAUKEE (March 5, 2009) - Buell Motorcycle Company has retained Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) as its new advertising agency of record. The advertising account was previously handled by Laughlin Constable. "The addition of Crispin Porter + Bogusky is part of our long-term growth strategy for Buell," said Mark-Hans Richer, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Harley-Davidson Motor Company. "We view CP+B as a next-level resource we can use to rev up our efforts to build awareness of Buell as the only American sport bike brand." “Laughlin Constable has been Buell’s advertising agency of record for the past 14 years, and we appreciate their many valuable contributions to the Buell business,” said Richer. Buell® motorcycles feature innovative designs inspired and created by its founder and Chief Technical Officer Erik Buell. These industry-leading innovations include patented fuel-in-the-frame technology and underslung mufflers for enhanced mass centralization, as well as Zero Torsional Load (ZTL) brakes and lightweight carbon/kevlar belt drive for reduced unsprung weight. Recently Buell took significant steps forward with the introduction of the liquid-cooled 146-hp 1125R and 1125CR sport motorcycles. The critically acclaimed 1125CR has the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class. Buell Motorcycle Company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1998. Crispin Porter + Bogusky will work exclusively on the Buell brand, and not on any Harley-Davidson projects. Harley-Davidson’s long-time agency of record, Carmichael Lynch continues in that role for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. “Working on a motorcycle brand is a dream come true for a lot of us at the agency and building awareness of the true American sport bike is a humbling and inspiring task,” said Alex Bogusky, Co-Chairman, Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Buell Motorcycle Company, a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc., produces sport motorcycles, motorcycle parts, accessories and apparel. To learn more about Buell motorcycles, go to www.buell.com. Hope they do a great job... HellBuelly J |
