In line with the ebay rant Ahhh Craigslist... If I have something on there, I am SELLING IT! Its capitalism folks, not barter flea market economy. I dont want your goat weed eating service, your Ford SHO that completed the Lap of America, your wooden boat with vintage evinrude outboard, your tricked out 1982 Toyota Celica, your antique tractor with front loader, the oil can collection, your cruise time share with questionable transfer and unknown blackout dates, your sky diving lessons, your tanning time, the guitar training, the wire transfer from some Nigerian Royalty... If any of it had any value, you could sell it on your own, and bring me the cash from doing that. And for the love of f'sakes if I have something for sale at X price, dont message me with an offer of 1/2 X just be cause you have CASH. Go get the other half of it and I will get serious when you do.... There really outta be an outing for some of these responses .... so post your favorite |

I hate when I get this email: "Is it still for sale?" no more, no less. YES! It is still for sale, and if it were not I would remove the listing! Now all you wanted to know was if the items is simply on the market? No other questions? Wow. WTF? Plz at least ask one more question. Where can I see it? How many miles? does it run? Where can I meet you to look/buy.

When I get a 1/2 price offer, I counter offer at 50% higher than my original asking price. Yes I made room to come down on the price, but not if you just ask, "Is that the lowest you'll go?". State a price and quit emailing me 5 times. Come look at it! |

Seriously... I was selling my 08 Sportster in summer of 08 and people kept offering half of book value because they had cash... One guy would e-mail me everyday... |

A question on Craigslist. Is there a way to search across all of their locations? |

And as for your "Is it still for sale" pet peeve. While you may responsible enough to remove your listing, I have tried purchasing things on Craigslist several times, only to call/email the seller and havve them inform me that it was sold months ago. |

There was a consolidated site at craigsfindr.com, but the Craig's List people made the kid who built it take it down. They didn't want someone searching more than one location at a time. (edited to add: Apparently the site is back up, but in a different location. http://havelistings.com/search.php does the same thing CraigsFindr used to do.) It's a pain in the ass to search for something, especially when you live in a small market. When I was in Atlanta there were always a lot of results for things, but not in Tallahassee. So I have to search the FL panhandle, Jacksonville, Pensacola, south GA, and a bunch of other sites to find one damn thing, and it's more trouble than it's worth usually. Ebay is a lot easier, and you can search by location. (Message edited by seanp on February 28, 2009) |

You can also use google's advanced search function. Keyword + state at craigslist.org gives results for your state. |

Craig's list is free; you get what you pay for... Unrelated but I thought of this amusing anecdote: While swap meeting years ago; I had an aluminum gas tank (think BSA Victor) for sale for $15. A dude who was also selling offered me $5 for it before the public was invited in. Long story short, the meet was winding down he came back again and pointed out that it had not sold and it was time to pack up. He generously offered $5 for it again. Well, I told him I would sooner take a fork tube and beat it in, before I sold it to him for $5... Yea, the look on his face when I took to that tank with a 35mm steel fork tube, was priceless. He even called me a slang name for a rectal opening. |

I just searched "Triumph Daytona 675" on the searchallcraigs.com site, and there was a Google ad on the results page for Buell.com. That's an interesting coincidence. |

ugh, a new slew of stupidity. pop up camper trailer, pump/generator (that worked last year), 84 Pontiac Fiero 'restoration', the chinese pit bike, 120 haybales, cords of wood, collection of Encyclopedia Britanica circa 1989, the Honda Elite Scooter (hey its a motorcycle), tickets to Rod Stewart, and collector edition Obama Inaugeration Tickets.... its called currency folks, dont get offended if I dont want the craptastic thing you are peddling especially seeing as how you dont want it anymore either... Dead presidents on green paper. No wonder this economy is broken, people just dont understand capitalism. |

i quite frankly enjoy craigslist! just about everything i post gets bought that week or the next day, not big items but mostly car parts. if u start with a fair used price for something and not top dollar you usually get people that will just come get it. the top dollar stuff i see i just ignore bcause i know the conomic situation as well as the USED parts world |

If someone asks if you are firm on the price, tell them no. Then tell them you would take twice as much as it is listed. |
