Honestly, Im not to familiar w/ the consumer HDD cam. I know some HDD don't play well with macs/quicktime. If I were you I would look into these new dslr still/video cams. All-in-one. We just got one of these rigs @ work "have you noticed You tube has just started accommodating HD uploads?" 10-4. I have alot of HD content on the tube right now. http://www.youtube.com/user/barkerbox One of my favs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkay5XSkM8A click the blue "watch in HD" link @ the bottom right of the player. DD, either you have some slow racers or one fast cop as I noticed him right up with the pack in a few shots. |

It's a local custom - they send the pace car at the back of the pack so that if any fall off they can run them over as punishment. Makes for cleaner starts. |

Hmmm. I had a minolta that shot 8 megapixels or video on my previous lease. But I need it so I can fit it in a small riding pack. The consumer level HDD handycams now shoot up to 8mpx stills and have 10 time optical zoom. This one does 4mpx stills at around $700us http://www.elive.co.nz/sony-dcsr220e-video-camera- dv0692.php |

On further research this looks like the go. Couple of kit lenses and a nice flash. http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Di gital-SLR/25446/D90.html |

I have a D90 and the video quality is amazing. The video option was not why I bought it but was pleasantly surprised by how good it actually is. I'm having fun with it, it's a great camera so far but I'm just a rookie and do not know any better. |

How does the sound recording work on the D90? |

I'm not sure of the electronics involved but the quality is pretty good. I can upload a video to Youtube and post it if ya want. |
