If you guys left Daytona about 8am, you should be at Jennings by noon time. Race action starts about noon. My class should start around 3ish. |

Barker, pm sent. Mark, so you will be running nekked in the park!?! I'm still riding the fence about running the B.A.W. I'm older and feeble, I don't like running cold when I can be warmer. It will be in the 40's for the first 400 miles or so South. Wind chill at 40F at 80 mph can't be good. The bike sure is more fun to ride without it though, and it seems the Love-Bug problem is not present. Gonna have to flip a coin later today. I usually take it off right after MB, that can be a cold ride after dark. |

We will be going off line for the duration of our trip. My wife has one of those fancy 'puter phone doodads, however, I don't want to borrow it as being called by her contacts over the weekend does not entice. I will contact Orangulious about posting any important updates. Otherwise we will fill you all in when we return. As Walter Conkrite would have said it "That's the way it is......March fifth, two thousand nine!" |

WE'RE BACK! Well at least I am. Mark loaded his bike up and faces another five hours home in his truck. A MOST EXCELLENT ADVENTURE!!! Sometimes if you feel the need to do something stupid, ya gotta follow through! It was an awesome trip, I will post more when I get rested up. I will tell you this.....I am so glad I left the B.A.W. on my bike, as much as Mark really wished he had left his windshield and big hand guards on! And the Gieco girls......ahhhhhhh.....mmmmmmm..... |

How about next month? Or the end of this month even??? March Badness beacons! My right hand is gonna be alright! It didn't blister the way it could have. I was running my Polly Heaters as we were smokin' along at eighty MPH for about the first five hours. I had my Buell Gauntlet gloves on and my finger tips were kinda cold but my palms were kinda hot. I kept moving my hand around to balance things out, but maintaining the throttle at that speed kept a little too much palm time on the bar. For a while there it looked like I grabbed a hot curling iron. But at least I didn't freeze. Man that was a long cold evening! We got to spend some quality time in the Gieco pits with Erik. His arm is still in a sling and he is itching to get back to doing stuff. I could tell the first thing will be his guitars. We also met up with John Flickenger and Henry Duga. Really great folks. They were all very hospitable and glad to see supporters of the Buell race effort. For those who didn't know Higbee's fifth place finish was talked up for about five minutes by the track announcers. This was between the race end and the podium announcements. They also were talking about the great efforts by the Buells at the track and how Eslic(sp) made his amazing come back from 69th to I believe it was 15th. Mark is right about the sound of the Buells. Nothing else on the track sounds like that. Erik said that they needed a couple of engines after practice during the week, so they pulled them off the production line, shipped them down, put them in the race bikes and tuned the ECM for the pipe and injection. That was some inside information that answered a lot of questions. Yes, they are actual production engines. |

Thanks Neil. Anniversary stuff is kinda important. Seems like the more you have the more important it is to them! Don't try forgetting one after twenty years. |
