Not meaning to seem smart ass or anything, but wouldn't your local police dept be able to help you? Or maybe the DMV? Call 911 and tell them the situation and see what they have to say. |

Ray has the correct advice, I have contacted the police to find out if there is any problem with a VIN. DON'T repeat DON'T call 911 to do that though - it's for EMERGENCY USE ONLY!! Just call the front desk # from the phone book. If some lowlife steals YOUR bike, then call 911. |

Not all Police Departments will do that for you. Just an FYI. Sometimes you have to go through the DMV. |

That's one of the issues I have. The local PD is rather reticent to give that info out. Fl. DMV will provide it IF I can show a reason for needing it and it was titled down here. |

The local PD is rather reticent to give that info out. Interesting comment. If part of an ongoing investigation, I can well understand why. |

Or do what I do, pay a member of the Sacto P. D. to run it and tell you all about the owner. Find an underpaid PD and they are a WEATLH of info. |
