Well, while I have finally got some money, I need to get some new rubber. Last ride I got a nail in my tire in Sept last year. Plug didn't hold either.

So, it's time for all new rubber.

Problem is, I can't seem to find the best deal on any tires.

I have found some Corsa III's on eBay for like $160 shipped for a 180 rear, and $143 shipped for a 120 front.

I am open to different tires, and savings is the name of the game. I'm not good with finding tire deals, and most of you know where to look! Thanks

Oh, and I think BadWeb needs a section dedicated to "Hot Deals." That way if we find a hot deal, we can check that area for them. Just a though.

First I decide on 2-3 different brands of tire I want. Then I put them in an excel spreadsheet. The I get the latest motorcycle rag and go to all the websites that sell tires. While surfing these sites, I also add their contact info, exact tire price and shipping (if any) to my spread sheet.

Once I record all that info, I figure out the best deal and call Dennis Kirk. DK will beat any price you bring them. You just have to have the exact price w/shipping from the competitors cause DK will verify the price while on the px w/you.

An added benefit of buying from DK is they are a known entity!

I got my Continental Road Attacks from DK and brought them into the local indy to get them mounted on my M2. I am really happy with the tire. I have one entire season on them and they are just showing the first obvious signs of wear. I am thinking I will probably get one more season before they are toast, or maybe two depending on how much it gets ridden vs my GSX-R.

They aren't the most aggressive tires, but I am not the most aggressive street rider. I have never come close to finding the limits.

Last time I did it, DK beat RonAyers. See attached spread sheet for example...
application/vnd.ms-excel
TIRESAMPLE.xls (18.4 k)

BE SURE TO CHECK ON SHIPPING PRICES!!! Some sites that say free shipping, but this doesn't include tires.

I've been using the Desser Tires Tomahawk T3s on my Buell and will be installing them on my Bandit next week. Gotten mileage around the 7k mark. Price for the front/rear set (just got 'em) was 145.00 +tax - free shipping.

Check 'em out at

Those Dessers are recaps? I think I saw an article on them a while back in a cycle magazine. How many sets have you gone through? At that price they would be perfect for stunting, but how are they at higher speeds?

i picked up a pair of Bridgestone Battlax BT-021's, stock sizes, for ~$230 or so from Dennis Kirk (free shipping).

i am pleased with the tires so far, they are a dual compound which is serving the purpose well in flat and straight IL.

I am in need of a new set of tires. My tires would be good for a little more street use but I have 5 track days on them and a fresh set for this year. I have thought about buying a set of wheels and having a track set and a road set. But funds are on the low side this winter(over time got cut). I am going to look into Conti RaceAttack streets. They are about the same price as the Corsa III. Iron pony has the best price I could find.

I have an 05 9R, and i still have the stock tires on their... I have heard a rumor that the tires that came on their are actually impeding the performance of the bike. I am looking at getting a new set, and would like to know what tire will give me the most performance for the bike? Note, I only street ride, I cant unfortunately attend track days.
Thanks guys.
I know this is opening a can of worms, and everyone has different opinions, but every side of the story would be nice.
Thanks again.

Duke,

I believe that model came with the Dunlops. They suck.

Get thee to a tire store.

You can always use the rhino tire here...

I have never tried these but it looks cool.
And it may just work but i carry a plug patch, Its a hardcore patch and plug in one unit never fails, I have plugged 1/2 holes with good success.
