Are there any websites you frequent that has a badweb type following? Oh yeah, how 'bout some pics of your rides? Bought this from a badwebbers friend. My father has one and i always wanted it. Now i have my own. It is torn down now in the garage.

hotrodders.com http://www.hotrodders.com A little more technical (overall) than here. Not nearly as traditional/old school as the H.A.M.B. http://www.hubgarage.com More of a Facebook style place for hot rodders, not real technical. But there are individual "garages" where guys post blogs about their project builds. I go by Alumicraft on both. http://www.alumicraft.com (Message edited by Toona on January 04, 2009) |

I have my eye on a Shoebox Ford Coupe (with a Merc Grille) that is near my house, he keeps coming down in price, it keeps giving me needs. Needs work, but hell that is the fun of it isnt it? |

Thanks Brinnutz, but unfortunately looking for something a little closer to home. One day I'll find her, she's only calling softly right now, I'll wait until I can't hear anything else for the screaming! V |

This is my current project... 1962 Biscayne / was a six w/ 3 on the tree. Now - 400 small block w/ 4 speed, dropped spindles and springs, late model power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, power brakes, completely rebuilt suspensions with large sway bars front and rear, 17" & 18" Torq Thrusts, Ididit tilt, rebuilt speedo w/ Auto Meter gauges, saving up for air conditioning, now
Project two / stached away right now.. 1956 C.O.E. Chevy converted to a pick-up. It sits on stock frame which I shortened 3'. Front and rear suspensions have been converted to 1980 one ton dually. Currently has a 454 w/ 400 turbo but after the '62 is rolling I'm putting in a Cummings 6 cyl. to gain back foot room in the cab. The box is a '58 Fleetside long box. I thought I had pic on this computer but I can't find them, I'll post some if I can find them. |

Neat truck you have there For the old school stuff like you have, hands down, check out www.jalopyjournal.com and go to the HAMB. They're real anal about following the rules, which is a good thing, because they done let things get out of hand. Heres a link to my 65 Galaxie 460/535 hp I drive all over the country: http://www.usgear.com/v2od_galaxie.htm (Message edited by 65460 on January 04, 2009) |

My dad and I bought this Malibu when I was 15 years old. I drove it through high school, drove away in it when the wife and I got married and we brought our son home from the hospital in it. It has seen many many trasnformations. It now has a 406ci small block, six speed, C5 vette brakes, 12 bolt rear end and a bunch of other goodies. I autocrossed for a while but once I found track days on the 1125r it has been setting in it's pampered garage. And when gas went crazy it's pretty expensive to drive.

Glad to see a thread like this every once in a while. Always been a hot rodder, now settled down to sport bikes, easier to work on. Below is some pictures of my ultimate 10 second super street rod I built in the '70's. 66 Chevy Corvair, mid-engine 427/425 hp. Notice the front grill opening and pipes exiting the rear. Weight transfer would help put 10 car lengths on ANY super car of the time. Now long gone but not forgotten. Totally streetable, turnkey operation. One I wish I still had just to play with. I know some people around the Chicago area that will remember it and what it was capable of. Bob

Thanks for the links and pics fella's! This will be my first complete rebuild of an auto.(done many bikes) I have most of the truck torn done now and i'm getting a list of what needs to be done and in what order. Also, this is being done in a single car garage. I actually put french doors from the garage into the second bedroom of my house! I put my bench, tools, TV, BUELL, welder and beer fridge in there to get more room.(no i'm not married, lol!) I put my pitbikes in the house and the neighbors Fatboy gets moved out while i work. I put alot of the body in storage while i concentrate on the chassis. I may post some more pics someday as i progress. Thanks again! |

I have one of these sitting in my barn, waiting to be tended to one of these days. It's a little rusty here and there but about 95% original.

I have this sitting in the driveway in my backyard:
It's a 1953 Hudson Hornet Club Coupe. Engine is a 308 cubic inch flat head 6 with "Twin H Power" (twin one barrel carburetors). It's good for about 200 HP and GOBS of torque with some mild hot-rodding (what engine does that remind you of?). I had it about 75% restored 15 years ago and drove it regularly. Unfortunately, I let it sit up, it developed engine problems, now I need to start over again. Fortunately, it looks like I finally have some time to do this sort of thing now; I hope to get started on it soon. (Message edited by Hughlysses on January 05, 2009) |

Hughlysses, Very cool ol' sled! As is or restored, or a period hot-rod. Don't hide it, drive it. Working on a '48 Ford rat-truck myself. It's a work in progress.
Hope to have it running this summer. Been scrounging some cool old parts including a thick 1942 plexi-glass sunvisor in deep blue. It features the Folk Art of Wes Freed on the dash...
... and Harley Warrick's old tailgate.
Bought some re-pop Mack roof running lights and a pair west coast mirrors. It still needs a gun rack and motorcycle tie-downs installed. It's got a ways to go and it ain't a hotrod but it should be a good conversation piece and a lot of fun. JB2 |

Hughlysses- Nice car! I think JB2 is correct on the restore or period correct hot rod with a Hornet. JB2- I really thought about rat rodding my truck but it's in pretty good shape so i just couldn't see doing it. Maybe after this truck i'll find a project ratrod. I look at killbillet.com all the time and some of those rides are amazing and the style just fits me. |

Xbjelly9s, Mine started out as a '48 Fordor sedan and the old man who owned it converted it into a truck. It even has a truck title. I remember him as kid when he still drove the old, brush painted truck around. It has too much character to restore. If you're looking for a project we use this site for parts and projects... http://www.dvap.com/ ... lots of possibilities. Lots! JB2 |

Preybird1, Love the old Chryslers. I had a '61 Windsor, 2 - '62 Newports and a '62 300. Sold them to get a new Harley. I've always wanted a '59 Desoto Adventurer with a small Hemi. I've even lusted after a '59 Buick Invicta and '60 Chrysler 300F. Great cars! JB2 |
