There is no way for us to know what the 1st 4 years under Gore would have been like, but it would have meant we would not have had the last 4 under Kerry.
The President, the Senators, the Representatives should be TERRIFIED of the people. It's time to reinstate the seizure of personal assets by the people for offenses committed while performing the elected duties.
Was that ever legal, if so why was it discontinued?
I hope that it would not be blood in the streets, but Like you Stevens should be looking at jail time if wrong doing can be proven, Many elected officials that become "career polititions" appear to get the mind set that they are above the law, Kennedy, Stevens, Cunningham in CA, and others
Stevens certialy seemed to, and I am left with the question Why did this go on.
Gore and or Kerry as president are the stuff of nightmares
IMO Gore is a hypocritical idiot. Carbon Tax?
Yeah AL we know you Invented the internet.
NC was seriously considering Milage Tax, it will be this kind of blatent grevious money grab that will start any action.
but unless the feds are taking weapons away from the State's National Guard, your point is unrelated to the Swordsman's point
Most of your Armed National Guard units are DEPLOYED. Its a wonderful way to make sure that your national full time active duty military is on hand, and most organized well armed opposition is vacant. (notice the failure to respond by nat'l guard units over the recent disasters... The A game is being played at away fields, and they took their equipment with them'
The guard failed to respond because the person that is allowed by law to call them did not call them. The person that is NOT allowed by law to call them took the blame though.
The paring down of the active forces and relying more heavily on reserves and guard units was part of BRAC and "right-sizing" that took place under Clinton. I don't think guard units were deployed because the feds fear an uprising. That would imply that Clinton planned the whole thing up to and including the resumption of hostilities in Iraq, and frankly I don't think he can see past the end of his penis.
As for my comments both Scott and Jeremy are right to some point. To have true change you must be prepared to make the changes. To my point, even with all that has gone wrong in this country over the past seven years, 46% of voters rather deal with the pitfalls of the Republican course, than risk a full scale change. I do not believe the majority of votes believed McCain's sincerity about change. He if anything was move more toward the Republican center than even staying his historical course as a moderate. That lack of focus and clear message cost him his shot to the White House.

Witness the Randy Weaver affair and the ATF/FBI raid of his cabin in Idaho, for sawing off an inch of a shotgun (and intent to resale to u/c agent) The bureacrats dont want the citizens to have guns. Gawd help the alphabet soup agency that rolls into Montana trying to collect weapons.
