well actually I went go kart racing last night in charlotte with some of the cycleforums.com charlotte crew. man what a blast but thats not the story. heres the story: One of the guys that went with us was Aaron Stevenson from cornerspeed riding schools among other things. I didn't know he lived in charlotte and such. Well he sees my Buell shirt and helmet and he ask me if I ride a buell. Well we get to talking and I say I work at tilley's and such. He says to me I love the buell's, And I say well then you should get one. this is where it gets good. He tells me he already has one a 98 S1W. and he loves it. He starts telling me that out of all the bikes he has, when he rides on the street all he ever rides is his buell. and proceeds to tell me why he thinks buells are the best street bikes out there. Not track bikes but street bikes. You know the drill, all the torque and the handling and the fun and all that. Then he tells me stories of riding in the mountains with his old racing buddies, like Jamie James and such. When they are out riding in the mountains they do the chinese firedrill of bikes, you know switching bikes, well guess what bike all of them run to to ride. Thats right the buell. why I say, he tells me because we all know the most fun on a bike is 30 to 100 mph and all that down low torque in the twisties there just the funnest damn bikes made for the street. I ask if he's rode an xb yet, he says I can't wait to ride a 12. well guess who's coming down to test an xb12 someday here. moral of this story: we are talking about a group of professionals here , some still race some run schools and some are retired and the bike they want to ride on the street not the track is the buell. That is exactly what these bikes are made for and get that kind of approval from people that could ride circles around alot of people out there that swear they need all this hp and blah blah blah. to me that is a great endorsement. who knows maybe he'll add an xb12 to his stall of bikes. get on your bad motorscooter and ride Brian Tilley hd/buell buckinfubba@hotmail.com 704-872-3883 |

Hey, I prefer my Buell on the street AND the track. I hear that there's some cool dude in Iowa who has similar views. |

hey blake me too also. I think for aarons school which is at VIR(lots of long straights) he prefers the high horsepower. I belive on the track he rides an rc51 alot. kinda torquey and higher hp. what I was pointing out was this Jamie james and others who could ride circles around most of us. Know a good street bike when they are on it.

I still think this would be a good idea: 1. Take as many bikes as you want, no limits on models or horsepower or setup. 2. Put a speed limiter on them set to a maximum speed of 100mph. Call it the felony road test if you want. 3. Now do a road test with as wide of a variety of riders as possible, no police, no limits, controlled roads, so forth (sort of like Buell did with the intro testing of the XB down at the Gap a few years ago. What do you think the results would be.

How about making the Silverstate Classic open to motorcycles... |
