>>>I still don't understand the aversion to trying to ride through the Winter....not even every day, but some days, at least. I love you, man! Particularly this time of year in "our" neighborhood" . . . .each and every time I get lost it's more spectacular. |

Babired: I hear you, and agree. Jan. riding often sucks, and is rarely something I look forward to. Many Winters I'm overseas, which sort of stack the deck, anyway. My point is just that, if someone's bored in the Winter, and they refuse to ride, it seems like they've cited both the symptom .... ...and the cause. Court- Back at you, my friend- This is such a spectacular time of year to ride, I cannot FATHOM how anyone in this country can be "bored outta my mind" right now, in November, with all the great riding opportunities out there. It was 70 o F here sections of the Hudson Valley this past weekend. |

I went for a "flurry ride" yesterday afternoon and had a b!tchin' good time. The snowflakes zipping by my helmet made it look like I was jumping to warp speed. |

Winter hobbies.... I am bored outta my mind!! Now that MSF and Riders Edge Classes are over until next April and there is no races to be run.... I AM BORED TO DEATH!! What are your winter hobbies? My point is just that, if someone's bored in the Winter, and they refuse to ride, it seems like they've cited both the symptom .... ...and the cause I don't see refuse to ride anywhere.... I just wanted to know what everyone else does over the winter.smile on my face.... |

Mark does it take you awhile to slow down after the teaching season ends? Did you go to Memphis for the RE CIW this year, I did! K |

I was teaching that weekend... go figure... I wish I could have went. Maybe next time. Slow down? LOL It feels like I have come to a complete stop. I didn't have a weekend with nothing planned from March Badness to my last class the second weekend in Oct. Riding back and forth to work and farting around with the race bike just doesn't cut the mustard.... I feel like a tweaker with no meth.... GOTTA DO SOMETHING... A dirt bike or dual sport sounds like it may be what I "need" |

Sometimes after I teach for the season I need to slow down because I'm so used to working every weekend. Now I start helping those who want to ride and are new riders with their bikes during the weekends. Got to keep them warm in their new found skills for the next season. Looks like I have a milder winter than you. Don't you usually get one or two students a year to mentor? K |

I have only had a few contact me to ask what type of bike to buy. I would say that most of them have parked it for the season.... |

Yeah they do. They had one in Baltimore in March one year. I think one person rode to it. I think that was in 2002. Memphis was a BLAST! Should have made the PM teach I wonder how many other Rider's Edge instructors are in here on Bad Web. K |

Court sez: " I'm on the verge of declaring the Hudson Valley the countries best kept secret." That is an accurate statement, Mr. C } |

Shoot for October 2009 for the HH5 5th anniversary blast. Serious planning presently occurring. Elisabeth Shue isn't a definite Grand Marshalle, yet, but we'll do our best. Hey- If I have to take one for the team with her, so be it. I'll get over it. |

Eugene Hutz. His "Gypsy Punk" band, "Gogol Bordello", kicks ass. What's funny is that he only met with the film's director about doing the musical score, the director was having a really difficult time filling the role of "Alex", and it hit them both that he could play the role. I didn't recognize him, at first, without his trademark 'stache... An absolutley outstanding role in a beautiful movie; it's in my top 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahx4q58PBVE |
