I know I will probably get flamed by some of the "hardcore" riders, but I ordered a set of the orange tires for my M2. www.cycletires.com They just look to damn cool and I haven't read a bad thing about them yet. Total bill was $259 and they should be shipped in December. I probably won't pout them on till this spring though. I always go to the Appleton HD open house. All food and beverages are free. They accept donations all going to charity! Anyway, I think I will have to kill what's left of my D205 in the burnout pit. |

I've still got an inherant uneasy feeling about retreads. And don't give me the argument that airlines use retreads until you can show me a Boeing 757 being run through a BattleTrax course. "Sorry sir, your jet blast displaced 97 cones, that will be a 97 second penalty on your time." |

Mike actually it would be 48.5 seconds. Each cone is 0.5 sec. And it could go either way depending on which event the Jet was running. IE time trials of TToD LOL. Also I wonder if Boeing would have to void the jets warranty??? |

Oh crap, Dyna-mail. Wonder if it bounced, if I recall that mail box was about full. Probably sent me a pic of a 747 lifting an inside wheel in a 100mph turn at the end of a gravel runway or something. Off to check email in the background as I get ready to upload data in the foreground. |

According to the website they can be cleaned just like any other tire. Like I said though, I promise to do a full review of them once I try them out this spring. If anything I am sure i will get some strange looks at the Harley dealer (not that my bike doesn't already). Truth is when I pull up to a dealership with my dad (2000 sporty all tricked out) people walk right by his bike and study mine. I like to rub in the fact that mine was half the price with more performance |

Koz you better look at what they say to clean them on the web sight. You can't use any strong cleaner like white wall cleaner or solvents because it may ruin the color.Thats what they say on the sight anyways. |

99buellx1: I don't know what they look like when they're dirty but they look like shit when they're new. Or maybe it's just starting to look like I'm OLD. Whatever. |

Any color tires other than black is just plain stupid looking. They would be classified as the biggest poser joke you can install on a bike. But hey its your bike & your money..have fun I guess. I thought Buell riders were all about riding & less of this type of ridiculous thing? |

Dyna, how much did you spend on chrome for your bike? |

This go round I actually removed chrome from my bike. And its bit of stretch to compare Orange retread bike tires to some chrome bits. Sure both have poser points, but at least the chrome isnt a potential safety issue. I dont know about you but I want the absolute best quality tires I can afford for my bikes. There is no way in hell I would ever put retreads on a car much less a bike. Way too much at risk. |

After reading the reviews I am not worried about the quality of the tires. They have been using the retreads in race conditions for 2+ years. As far as poser points though, even if the tires glowed in the dark they wouldn't be as loud and annoying as your illegal, performance stealing open pipes |

Performance stealing?? The S&S dyno I have run on says otherwise. And you are really jealous about my pipes arent you? Seem to bring them up all the time. I guess your dads bike & all his HD riding buddies all have full stock systems. You think the guys razzed you when you were on your nighthawk, wait till you show up with orange tires. I would love to be there. |

No I just figure if enough people bitch about excessively loud pipes maybe somebody will take a hint. As far as the dyno run, I would have to believe you are incorrect. Unless you are running a radical cam, ported heads, and a large carb your unbalanced, open exhaust is subpar to a thunder header with baffles providing needed back pressure. |

Oh yeah, My dad runs V&H pipes. He lost 5 hp (compared to the screaming eagle exhaust he had) with them and they are annoyingly loud. I razz him about it constantly. and make walk his bike out at night as not to annoy my nieghbors. |

Andrews cam is in & the pipes arent as fully open as you might think. Running torque cones & also have the old bolt with the welded washer trick installed near the end of each pipe. Suprised the hell out of the dyno operator that I was getting the numbers I was as well as the torque curve with only the very slightest of dip right at 2700 rpms. Contrary to the old myth thats out there, you can dial a set of drag pipes in to run damn well. Could I get a pony or 2 more out of a 2-1 system? Sure, but that minor gain isnt worth it to me. I prefer to blast my pipes & drown out those who cry about them |

It's all about the noise... lol I give you a hard time about it because I can. I am thinking of doing my heads this winter. My brother-in-law's brother pulled 105 on the dyno last year at the Appleton open house. Softail with the heads he redid. Some other goodies also, but mostly stock parts. I would like to get my bike over 100 at the rear wheel for next summer. |

Heads is on my list as well. Branch, Headquarters & Nallins are my picks. Just need to decide. |

I was thinking about dropping my bike off at Hoban Brothers this winter and just telling them to call me back when it hits 100 hp at the rear wheel |

Koz...I am curious, why wouldn't your brother-in-law's brother be your brother-in-law? Dang, family trees are getting harder to understand these days. Must be some kind of hybrid, eh? |

Colored tires? Imagine a Buell with a Force pipe (audibly calling out to the police) and bright orange tires (visibly making a statement). I don't think so. |

Maybe you could do a red burnout in a blue neighborhood, or vice versa, then haul ass for the nearest freeway on ramp. This the sort of thing that makes America great, God bless personal choice, you go girl, yada yada yada.... However, for my two cents (three cents Canadian), I think colored tires are the geekiest looking thing I've ever seen. Anybody here remember when the combined BadWeB got all over Matt The College Kid for putting "Dunlop" stickers on the forks of his bike? Dang, I miss that kid and his high octane energy and enthusiasm (and front wheel stands that would work on EVERY BUELL EVER MADE!). |
