Hey folks, Buell newbie here. I wouldn't be here at all if a friend of a friend didn't need to get rid of a Millenium X1, #518 - all bone stock. I've been trying to find out all I can about these bikes. I know they did 400 North American Millenium X1's, and they did 400 North American Racing Stripe versions. Looking around places like cycletrader.com and others, I see several of the Racing Stripe models for sale. I've only seen ONE of the Millenium X1's (the silver one) for sale. Is there a reason one is selling and one doesn't seem to be on the used market? If this Millenium X1 is worth much of anything, I'd be tempted to unload it... Mike M

I'm not looking to unload it. But I've learned thru many cars/bikes that if you have a chance to make money - TAKE IT! That helps me feel better about all the thousands I've dumped into them only to sell them at a huge loss. I love riding, but have always done so on big Harleys. The more I ride the Buell, the more I like it. It does take some getting used to - completely different animal. The bike is 100% stock, 5600 miles, and in perfect condition. I picked it up to help someone out, and now I find myself standing in the garage just staring it at night. It is pretty damn sharp if I do say so myself! My question was more of one "why do I see several Red Stripes for each Millenium"? If they made the same number (400), I would expect to see similar volume in the real world. Mike M |

I believe they made 800 red stripes. My wife has number 007, and I'm pretty sure the gas cap says "OF 800". |

Fnrage, my gas cap says 800 as well. Mine's #518. I have found that with these two models, they intermingled them. Added 400 and 400, and came up with 800. Then they each (Millenium or Red Stripe) get their own "X" of 800 number. That's how I think it is. I'm new, so I don't claim to be an authority. A couple of people that really seemed to know what they were talking about told me. There were also a handful of overseas units as well. Mike M |

There seems like theres more race stripes because there is.They started producing the race stripe in 99 and then again in 2000 but what they did is change the stripe. In 99 if I remember right they had a thin stripe and a fat stripe next to one another. Then in 2000 they put 2 thin ones with the fat one in the center.Hope that helps. |

Thanks for the info. I was under the impression that the limiteds were in there own class and not combined. |
