Hey out there - anyone in the neighborhood this Saturday (Oct. 18) who wants to stop by - we're having a Blood Drive at Liberty from Noon to 5pm. Our goal is 30 pints - and although they keep raising our goal (they're always impressed with the turnout) we're hoping to keep meeting it.

This time, special for the Liberty Blood Drive, those who donate will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to Liberty, AND a $15 gas card from the Blood Center of NJ.

Plus, probably a cookie or something. Oh and probably some juice. : )

They need blood. It barely hurts for a minute, and every last pint counts. So come on out and give a little bit back to the community.

You can schedule an appointment online at www.bloodnj.org, or you can call us at 732-381-2400 and tell whoever answers you want to sign up for the Blood Drive. You can ask for me (Michelle) or Lucy.

Hope to see you here!!

We've gotten Mutant blood before. I have a great picture of him afterward. Sure would like to meet whoever got that pint.

Naa you can walk in. Might have to wait a while though. We get walk-in "normies" from around town too. They never come all the way into the store though. Hunh.

Is it safe to ride after? I have heard it makes you dizzy. I got nothing else going on, I will try and stop down.

Somewhere that kind of community development and outreach just doesnt fit a 'business model' for motorcycles.

Good on y'all for doing it anyways. Another great Liberty event that I will miss out on. Damn commute

It kinda does, but we don't like to talk about it. People in our sport often have, well, a need for donated blood. So we figured, we'd try and help build up their stores a bit. And the response we get from our community is usually overwhelming. Last time people ended up waiting almost 1/2 hour to get into that little bus thing!

Froggy - I've never really felt that light-headed afterward, but they say those kinds of effects are short-term. I think that's why they give you some juice and cookies afterward. : )

So we just finished up the Blood Drive here at Liberty. I don't know how many pints they actually got, but we gave out about 42 Gift Certificates. So at least 42 people attempted to give.

I know there was a line most of the day, and I saw one badwebber for sure, although I didn't get to talk to him. So thanks for everyone who came out - we beat our goal of 30 by like 1/3.

Definitely our best turnout yet. They were so busy that employees who wanted to give were turned away at the end, because it was after 5pm.

Sorry if some of you had to wait a long time. I think the paperwork part actually takes longer than the bleeding part! But due to privacy issues, blah blah, we're not allowed to prestage at all. And there's not a lot of room in that little bus.

ANYWAY I just wanted to thank everyone, and let the world know how generous motorcyclists really are.

Had a great time, used up my gift certificate and ran into court again. Great to see his bike in person, it makes my bike look like a cheap Uly knock off : )

It was great to see you too Froggy! Sorry I missed you coming out of the Blood Bus . . it was great to see the line there.

I picked up a couple of my XP Cop bike parts and some stuff. I also saw that Liberty has even MORE very cool Buell shirts and there were two new ones I'd not seen.

The funnest part of the day was seeing two folks trying to buy Buells at one time. One had heard about the "Annual Buell Party" and wanted to know how soon there'd be another. He was from Spain and looking to buy an XB.

Also got a chance to visit with a nice guy who's been lusting over an 1125 and was smitten with the CR. The one on the floor was black and he's waiting a month to get it in red.

Kinda cool to see all the Buell activity.

Thanks to the folks at Liberty . . . even though I arrived post Munchkin : ) . . my own darn fault.

Blood runs should be an essential part of the motorcyclist's calendar.

I always find it heartening that the Daly City Hells Angels donate more blood to the Stanford U. Blood Center than do any other group.

Too often we leave it all over the pavement, and we, ourselves, require this most vital generosity of our brothers and sisters
