I noticed a strange banging, clanking noise when backing the bike into the garage. It seemed to come from the head tube and I had fears of cracked frames or trashed head bearings. Well rather than log on and scream for you to tell me what was wrong I pulled off the fly screen and there’s the problem right in front of my face! The horn bracket has broken! The noise is the horn flopping around in there. Off to the shop tomorrow for a warranty write up. Only on a Buell would you find a broke horn while looking for the cracked frame that never was there! Guess I read to many post of how bad these bike are. Funny thing is one of my new bike (Bultaco) sat for 3 months waiting on a part and it was less than 2 months old when it broke, and I was told there GREAT bikes. A buds Honda ST1300 ate a wheel bearing, no one ever said it was crap like they will about a Buell. If a horn is the worse I gotta put up with then all I can say is Great! Now who else as gone in a wild goose hunt just "Knowing" there was a major problem only to find a loose wire/bolt/or what ever! Some time we all seem to get Struck Silly! This was my time...for today so far anyway. |
