How many times have you seen something on a website then found out the info is wrong, or the price is wrong, or it's not available? It's happened to me a few times lately, and while it hasn't cost me anything, it's been annoying chasing stuff up. Recent example was looking for a new helmet - the bike shop only had a small amount of stock, and said they didn't have printed brochures anymore because it was all on the wholesalers website. So we looked on the website and found the helmet we wanted and rang the shop - Oh no, that's been superseded a while ago and no longer available. The info on the website were all last years helmets. At the same time a couple of other shops advertised helmets which when we rang they didn't have them anymore. Some companies seem to go to great effort to keep their sites up to date, others don't seem to care, or don't realise old website pages are still active. End of whinge. |

Funny you mention this..... I was browsing my local dealer's web page yesterday and found an 03 XB9Sl with 28 miles....asking $5100.00. I ran over at lunch.........."yeah, we haven't updated the web page in two years" I said, "I suppose the email I sent about the 02 Vrod didn't get read by the sales dept?" "uhm, that site isn't run by us, matter of fact it says we have 2100 bikes, we have 34" In today's age of technology and impersonal purchases, why the hell can't people keep their damn pages up-to-date?? |

That's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about . Digging around it seems in Australia that consumer laws for print advertising apply to websites too, but a lot of companies don't seem to care. |

Bait and switch? Dealer near me always has a WR250R (yamaha)listed in CycleTrader online. Of course they don't have one and the sales idiot didn't seem to know what it was compared to other WRs. |
