Well deadline for inspection is Sunday. Gotta get the bie inspected today or tomorrow. Need D.O.T. approved turn signals TODAY. The generic ones aren't DOT inspected and I didn't know they'd look for that. So does anyone know where I can buy temproary turn signals to use jsut for inspection> They gotta have DOT on the glass/plastic! I have a moped, but dunno if those will work. Thanks!! |

If Maryland is like Virginia, If they are on the bike they must work , but they are NOT mandatory equipment for motorcycles. Check you Inspection codes. just remove them for the inspection then reinstall afterwards to keep your visibility up. |

I talked to the inspection yesterday at Cycles USA, a Jap bike dealer in Silver Spring. He said turn signals must have DOT on the lens, and mine are clones of the OEM Buell ones, just without the dot on the lens. |

No argument there. I am just saying in Virginia you are not REQUIRED to have turn signals on your bike, but if they are on it they must be correct and function. I own bikes with and without turn signals ands have no problems with inspections in the state of Virginia. If you ask the State Police they should be able to tell you whether or not turn signals on motorcycles are MANDATORY in the state Maryland. I hope this helps. Go to a different inspection station. Here in Kansas we haven't had mandatory vehicle inspections since 1978, wish we did because it would get a lot of junk off the road. |

What happened to the stock signals like those in your profile pic? Those are DOT approved nationwide. Just reread your previous post. If you need stock lenses, go to the HD/B dealer and ask if they have any take-offs. If so, they'll probably give 'em away free. |

No inspections in WI, however if you are looking for cheap signals, the stock Buell signals, from the dealer, are cheaper then most aftermarket signals. Otherwise, try a motorcycle boneyard? |

Thanks for the info guys. MD state law says none required, but the inspector at the shop says I have to. Maybe hes just making it difficult because he sells Jap bikes and this is a Buell I found the turn signals at a local shop. Thanks yall! |

Screw it... Take'em back. If it's legal, it's legal. |

haha, if you're lucky, an ebay bid-war on them will probably finance two sets of the ones you really want. |

Tuber turn signals are ~$5/each and must be the same as some HD cycle because my dealer stocked them. Odds are yours does too. Not sure if they'd fit your XB but I don't think you'll find anything cheaper that's legal. |
