Nope : )
Here's a quick a dirty route that we followed to Pine Bluff last year I believe.

And here is a 1/2 way decent route from Pine Bluff to Leland

If anybody is interested in a side run on the way to Leland, find Hwy 188(east) off of Hwy 12 take it to the Merrimac Ferry(free) cross the mighty Wisconsin River and turn left on to Hwy 78 once you get off the boat. This will take you back to Hwy 12. Hwy 78 has some good twisties. Hope every body has a great day and ride safe!!

+1 on the ferry.

Tower Hill state park in Spring Green makes for a nice stop if you like the history channel stuff. it's $5 a head to get in, but they give you a map with some history on the tower to go with it. we went saturday, and Ranger Rick even gave us the nickle tour.

Hwy 60 from Spring Green to Sauk is another great ride...the whole area is littered with great roads

I'll be up with a gang from Dubuque, we'll plan on being in Pine Bluff around 9:30 too, Bomber. Look for a Firebolt with my goofy arse on it, and a black Lightning long (or two)

I think we might be reconsidering about going. Keep looking at the forecast and right now for Appleton, it's a 60% chance of rain... Madison area is 80% chance for Sunday. I don't mind riding in the rain, but with how cold it's going to be, sounds miserable to me... I'll keep an eye on the weather - we might be coming...we might not.

That was, by far, the Slimiest Slimey Crud Run I have attended. There were a number of people that did show up, and I did log 315 miles.

We headed out of Appleton at 7:45, it was 42 degrees, but dry. After 95 miles we stopped for gas and stuff. I was warm with my 5 layers of shirts/sweatshirts, Leather jacket, Joe Rocket pants, and double socks with plastic bags in my boots. 30 miles later we pulled into Pine bluff. Here I met up with some family that had ridden out from Milwaukee and Stoughten. IT was there first time (hopefully not last). As we pulled into Pine Bluff there was a heavy drizzle but enough bikes to make the trip worth it. We went inside, grabbed a hot chocolate, and checked out the doppler, it wan't to promising. However after about an hour of talking and looking at bikes, including some old Harley with a flaming bedpan for a rear seat (warms the hands nicely) Three of us headed on my planned route. As we started the rain stopped, but the roads were still wet so that slowed us down. The curves were so tempting, but I kept the mild pace.

We made it as far as 60 and 23 when the rain started again, heavy this time though. Rather then trek on to Leeland, we stopped at Culvers for a burger and some dry warmth. At this point we decided just to head back since the twistys were not as much fun in the rain. Note to self: put a fresh coat of RainX on my helmet! For the next 130 miles we were rained on, then the wind picked up, but for the most part I stayed pretty warm. Anyway, we all made it home safe and decided we will return again, but when it is dry!

SOunds like I booked up just as you guys pulled in -- heated gear and grips ROCK!

Had two fellas come up and ask me if I was Peter Egan yesterday -- once while I was bout 3 feet from the gent in question . . . . there's just GOTTA be a way to turn this into a revenue stream!

One of the guys in a group I met up with brought his copy of "Leanings" to be signed. Of course he showed up in his Honda Accord...

Today I look back and think, it was fun to say I did it, but next time, I will stay home. I think I may go down that way next summer on a non crud run day, just to ride the roads. Now that I got family in the area with a motorcycle it is different. I will still attend the Crud run in the future... when it is not so cruddy out.

My buddy Jason Mueller and I headed out of Dubuque around 9 am (not sure what happened to the Waterloo guys, we were waiting for them), and headed up to 151 towards Madison. We were both bundled up, and stopped in Dodgeville to warm up a bit. It was raining pretty good, in the low 40s, and we ended up hitting some back roads around the area and heading back to Dubuque in one hellish downpour and thunderstorm. Definitely slimey and crudy! And of course- it got nice out in the afternoon. We did log a little over 100 miles though, in some nice sloppy cold weather, and got to check out some new back roads.

Sorry we missed you all, hopefully next year!

No... Egan lives close by I guess. The friend of my uncle (NOT EGAN) showed up in a Honda Accord. (he was sick, but didn't want to miss the opportunity to get the book signed).

Egan rode up on a very nice sporty cafe racer-- his pukka waxed cotton jacket didn't seem to be shedding water so much as absorbing it, perhaps for use later --

he live about 30 mikes away, if memory serves, so I might have been tempted to ride dressed liek that as well if I had that short a ride

not bad for a 60-year-old, though ;-}

he's just a guy -- he happens to write very well, and has many folks who like to read his work

unlike a number of other moto-journos (caff caff motorcycliststaffers caff), he seems to think of himself as just a guy

in these days of instant celebraties, this is refreshing
