Agreed on the point that the Daughter is at fault for letting the boy in. Agreed on the point that the Father is at fault for not knowing his daughter had been doing this for 18 months. How does that equal aggravated assault in the man's home at 4:00 a.m. against a trespasser/unknown intruder? |

^^^probably because the guy was INVITED into the house. Anyone who lives there can give permission for someone to come in. If the cops wanted to come in, do you think they would ask for "the man" of the house? Anyone who answers the door would do. It is your entire families' home, not YOURS, don't believe me? see what the divorce lawyers say. It's like saying that everyone who came to that unauthorized party that your brat threw should be arrested for trespassing. Not- they were invited. Your wife had a plumber there (actually) fixing the sink, you came home, didn't know who he was and chased him out with a gun....different but the same in the eyes of the law probably. “A man who can apologize for a hateful insult is a bigger man than one who won't.” Here are some excerptts from this thread: "...that gives me the right to shoot your ass" "...anyone not invited into my house thats in there naked or not is getting their head gear flushed out" "Tramp, I just suggest you stay out of my home uninvited, that way you'll never know what I'd do" "In your castel. If you catch a teen boy it the act with your teen baby girl, you may do as you wish, skin him alive, tourture him if you so desire, beat him censeles if thatz your pleasure, do as you will/feel" Which of these are you referring to, Blake? } |

IF charges are filed, dad will get minimal of community service or something. There is no jury on the planet that will throw this guy under the bus. |

I can say this for certain, if my old girl's dad caught me in his house with his daughter, I would have been black and blue for months, and prolly would have to beg for forgiveness just to see her again, and we were over 18 at the time. So we mostly stayed at my place.... |

I can now imagine a girl (in her boyfriends house) being clubbed by an angry father..Sad,the reasoning of some. You are likely to be exonerated for the use of force/deadly force in the defense of others, in your home, when a reasonable person is confronted with a situation in which they are fearful of immediate harm or death to another person living in the home. Just as one cannot use lethal force in the defense of property. A reasonable person would have realized that this kid was trying to get his pants on and sneak out of the house without being discovered. Just happening to have a pipe handy to beat the snots out of a kid makes me wonder how stable the dad is. I was once at March Badness. An A$$hat with a helicopter whom i'd just met realized i was from Rhode Island. "oh yeah, the Rhode Island red(rooster). You're a bunch of chicken F*ckers" Great, comming from the host of the event. I didn't get an appology. They're still fighting the civil war down there. I had a very very similar experience happen about a year ago. I got up about 2:30 am to get a drink of water and strolled into the living room because the lights and tv were still on. That's when I saw "The Jack Rabbit" working on my gf's daughter. I knew who he was, knew how old he was (18, she was 16), grabbed him by the back of the head, drug him out of the house all the while letting him now that if he decides to try anything, my best friend Det. Komar will be making a visit to his house with cuffs. I wonder what its like riding a bike home naked? Kids are kids, they sneak bf's and gf's in without permission. I feel for this dad, but think that he knew it was a bf before smaking him. It wasn't like his daughter was screaming rape and he came to the rescue. I wouldn't file charges if I were the DA though. |

I'm coming way late into this conversation/argument. But my train of thought is DEFINITELY with MIAMIULY. The daughter lives there, she's able to invite the boy into the house legally. Therefor the boy had permission to be there, and the father had no right to hit him with a freaking pipe. Kick him out of the house? SURE! Scream and call the kids parents? SURE! Physical violence? Nope, not a chance. The guy should pay for any medical bills or damages no question (in my mind). But jail time or harsh punishment is probably not necessary. |

They had to staple the kids wound shut. That=$$$$$ The charges must stick.A "reasonable" person would've asked questions first, before taking the law into his own hands. |

Something to kKeep in mind... he is swinging at a moving target and may not have been targeting the intruders head... Minors are the responsibility of their parents/ legal gaurdian. The daughter is under 18, her "invite" means nothing. If a family member of the residence under the age of 18 invites someone in, any adult of the household can tell that person to leave. If the person refuses to leave they are trespassing. It is not likely the person refusing to leave would get arrested at this point be if he refuses to leave when the Law shows up, it is a good possibility. |

any adult of the household can tell that person to leave. And tell that person to leave is precisely what he should've done. Instead, he opted to swing a pipe. Who cares what he was aiming for (head or not), he swung a freaking pipe at a kid. He should pay. |

"...that gives me the right to shoot your ass" "Tramp, I just suggest you stay out of my home uninvited, that way you'll never know what I'd do" Sounds more like good advise to me. Can't speak for the others as this is what I said, and wasn't being hateful, I was being honest. Now Jay, no need to try and get something started, I took your post earlier seriously. don't take my yuks personally, they're not intended that way. MY big (and only) brother lives in Ga. (he's a damn yankee), has two teenage daughters (god bless him) and would more-than-agree with you... he just knows my sense of humour a bit better. seriously, though- don't take my yuks personally. They are NOT intended that way No offense intended. Also, there's no need to try and troll Blake, I'm sure he's busy today, after last night. I'm not even sure if it's over for them down there right now, that's one big ass storm. With regards to the topic of the thread. I've had a talk with my son's about this today. They both said, and I quote, "Dad, I know better than to do anything like that, we know you better." See, it's a deterrent, and it works. I know my boys and they know me. We are very close. Therefore if someone is in my home uninvited I'm pretty damn sure they ain't family. And to another's post about actually killing someone and the burden that goes with it. Honestly I'd probably not shoot someone to kill them, but, I'd be willing to bet that's exactly what they would be thinking I'm about to do. |

I dont' know.......I don't think the father should be charged. I know my step-daughters boyfriend and if I found him naked in her room having come in through a window, I would probably give a serious verbal warning and make him leave. If, however, I had no idea who it is and I'm half-asleep, I'd probably el-kabong him, too. When his daughter told him it was a boyfriend, the man stopped the assault. Seems fair. PS, in my house, the wife is more likely to beat him to a bloody pulp than me. |

The lady down the street used to walk with a some sort of surgical catheter. It was about 3 feet long and unbreakable. It doesn't say what dad did. If he's a plumber, he might just have a pipe for home defense. |

First, Lost in Ohio I think you're on track here. An ounce of prevention...I take each of my daughters out individually once a month to place of their choice for father/daughter time. I think this will pay very high dividends in the future. Second, this IS the media and I'm wondering if it's the whole story? I think we could all discern between noises of an intruder and bed springs squeaking to a familiar rhythm. Dad may have just been seeing red and the kid got lucky. I've never been put in that situation so I can't say what I'd do, probably what Chinashop did and grab the kid by the hair and chuck him out the door, but again I've never been there and hopefully never will, again the whole dividend thing. And after recent posts, not this thread, I think a lot of context gets lost over the web. Either that or some people have some awfully thin skin. Please take all my posts as tongue-in-cheek unless otherwise instructed. Thanks |

"Shouldn't the tone of personally commentary be considered more from the view of the target than the source?" First, MY post, where I made the quip about siblkings, doesn't count as personal commentary- It was not directed toward anyone at all. It was a chuckle. Second: were we to 'consider' the 'tone' of others only from the point of view of the recipient, then we'd be advancing some culture where the subjective outcome, whether real of imagines, is the basis of our own judgement, rather than the actual act or statement, itself. If person X makes a passing quip about, say, Aardvarks, and person Y is suddenly gravely offended due to his or her past, negative experiences with Aardvarks, we don't suddenly charge person X for this reaction. |

Im kinda late on this thread but it is very entertaining and I dont wanna miss out. My take on this is, if I found a kid bangin my 15 yearold daughter in my house at 4 AM, Id be more than a tad pissed off......but there is somthing very non threatening, to me anyways, of a naked 15 yearold skinny kid with his dick in his hand. I was 15 once and for the most part, was just a hormone with legs. If it was still warm, Id screw it...heh. Dad musta forgot that part of his life. I woulda screamed and intimidated the hell outta both of them till they shit themselves....but the pipe....not me. Im Canadian. |

First, MY post, where I made the quip about siblings (sic), doesn't count as personal commentary- It was not directed toward anyone at all. It was a chuckle. No it wasn't. It was a coward's way out of a discussion. I certainly don't agree with your opinion, and for the life of me can't see how you find sneaking into another man's house acceptable no matter what your age. That remark made it clear to me that you'd rather resort to name-calling rather than reasoning. |

Coward? I made a joke, nothing more or less. watch it with your stupidity, easy. In NO way was I being cowardly, or trying to get out of a discussion. That was an incredibly stupid thing of you to say. Sure, one or two posters who felt insulted by my original yuck are going to back your stupidity up, only because they're pissed off I posted the sibling remark. |
