I couldn't find any prices. What do these typically sell for? I think it's a very cool idea, all the advantages of having a bicycle with a little help from the motor. Retro-styling is cool too. |

Around here, they're called mopeds. |

oooh they aint cheap, 3495. any color you want. But no licensing, no tabs, no tags, no insurance, and 90-120 mpg... very tempting. And at 49cc they are technically not a moped, they are a power assisted bicycle. Loophole |

I think reducing a dependence on foreign oil and a cheaper fuel alternative is a good thing, even if the vehicles will initially be expensive. I like the plug-in hybrid concepts...much like the diesel-electric trains that've been in use for around 90 years. 150mpg and no fuel necessary for local commuting sounds good to me. I'd still rather ride, though, too. |

That, at best, will go 40mph. Get a 110cc big-bore kit for the sumbitch and we got something to talk about! |

"Get a 110cc big-bore kit for the sumbitch and we got something to talk about!" At that size they are then licensed and have to meet all the EPA & NTSB regs, and your local state regs. Now that is not to say that you cant go and get 49cc stampings for a 110 motor .... I have a 2007 Beach Cruiser Bike with a 2006 Whizzer 110cc motor. The gas tank from Derringer was my last hold out on completing the project. Guess what I am doing for winter build season? |
