It was nice knowing all of you. Given space, time, and relativity, it may have happened already. So in that case, good morning.

Then again, I have a sick fascination with hurricanes, tornados, comet impacts, super novae, plane crashes, etc.

I'm not afraid of death. Somehow to stand there on the edge of the abyss seeing it all is fascinating to me.

I highly doubt anything created by man has the ability to "undo" the universe.

I am really looking forward to CERN. I hope the research spurns a new scientific renaissance.

Too bad we were not able to complete our own super collider, it would of been nice for the U.S. to take the point on this research.

}For all of the Billions $$$$$$$ they spent to make this thing work.

What's the payback?

A bunch of nerdy scientists learn some new equation? Big freakin' deal.

How does this thing affect life in any way?

What's the point?
Past experiments in particle physics have yielded scores of practical spin-offs, ranging from new medical therapies to high-tech industrial materials — and even the World Wide Web, which you're using to read this report. But the potential for spin-offs isn't why more than 10,000 researchers around the world are looking forward so anxiously to the LHC.- from the link.

Kind of like we learn from space and new materials are created for space exploration, then we enjoy them.

Someone had to prove the world wasn't flat too.... we spend nothing on Space in the pie chart of our National Budget.

Supposed to talk about it on "Today" NBC.
Don't know if it had played yet though.

Im thinking we'd all be pretty close together in that black hole, given the gravity of the situation..heh...and sposin I forgot to shower. Can you still stink in a black hole?? Or am I confusing them with brown holes???

O.K. so what's the deal? I need a time frame. When is their Wednesday morning on our time? EST in the USA to be specific. It's going to make a small black hole? How long will it take a small black hole to gobble up the world? Or does it matter? Should I start working on my bike tonight or just wait to see what happens?
Crap I never should have read this thread.

if the end is coming I hope some people have really nice kevlar vests and helmets.

And some women should invest in really padded bras. I have pointy elbows.

Its going to be awhile before they get it up to full power. ~ a year if things go well, not in our lifetimes if things go badly.
