So, I was in San Diego for the past week on a shoot. I saw Buells all over that town.
IIRC, I saw. 2 1125Rs 2 XB12XTs (riding together) 4 XB12Ss (one of these was parked outside my hotel most of the time) 1 CityX 1 XB12X 1 M2 1 Blast 1 XB12R
And to top it all off: One the last day of my shoot, I decided to wear one of my Buell shirts. One of the guys I had been working with all week says "Nice shirt", I say "Thanks, you know much about buells?" he says "Yeah I got a Tricked out 12S and a Firebolt"
Then I go to fill-up the rental car and the guy at the gas station say "It's an extra 10 cents a gallons for anyone who rides a Buell!" My face contorts a bit in amazement then he says. "I'm just messing with you, I used to have an X1, I wish i never sold it, what do you ride?"
I felt like I was in the twilight zone. These things are getting too popular. I'm going to have to HTFU and get a bimoto or sumthin wacky like that.

I met one on the road a couple of months ago. I stopped. He stopped. I looked back to see if he looked back; he looked back to see if I looked back to see if he looked back to see if.....
That 1950's comment gives me a great start to the article - thanks.
Inspiration comes from the most unlikely of people don't it. I rode beside him for a mile while we checked each other's rides with a thumbs up. Now that would have been a right nice picture!
