They do not mean a thing. Nada, nil, zip. Stop judging by them. All they indicate indicate how the bike has been ridden 'recently'. |

I almost completely agree. They mean something to me in regards to MY bike. e.g. if there's no strip left, then I'm at my limit & it's time to change something in regards to how I'm riding it at the track. |

Yeah - that's right too. 'judging others' would have been better. |

On the street they are "wisdom strips." As in, it is wise to leave room to lean a little more in a pinch. Though my rear has no strips left and the front very little so..... |

OTOH, I always get a kick out of seeing a 20-something year old squid ride up on a late model crotch rocket with ~1/2" of fresh, virgin rubber on both edges of his rear tire, and a 1" flat strip in the middle, while this 50-something year old man on his Uly has no discernable strips on his rear tire at all. |

I was once asked by a young one(squid) how I got me tires scrubed in so close to the edge. Ha Ha. |

I take it the original post was deleted. I enjoy chicken strips as much as anyone else. Recently I have enjoyed them in a garlic Parmesan sauce. as stated earlier, on the street they are wisdom strips. |

Chick'n strips do not mean a thing. agreed. But squared off tires do say something. xception #1 the poor people of florida only have like 26 decent corners in the the entire state (most of those are @ jennings), so the boxed rears are permissible in the sunshine state. |

I kmow Dave I just got a kick outa that guy he was so cocksure it was a genuine giggle maker when I saw those tires looked like he road straight for days BTW I use a pic you posted of an old pre 30's HD you shot photos of at a track as a screensaver I sure wouldn't mind a few more of those I wish i could be more specific as to witch pics they were. That old machine looked good and to stay with the thread I bet there were less strips on that than Mr, Aprillia Dave |

Whats the original post??? But in all reality they don't mean shit! After a recent ride with about 8 buellers on a pretty good road, we all stopped before heading our separate ways. I noticed my rear tire was the only tire with NO stripes left. I mean nothing! The guy leading had about 1/2 inch left... I thought this was very odd.....as he is a MUCH better rider then me. But then I started thinking about it and he hangs off his bike more then I do. So even though I have no stripes and he does, I know he is still the better rider! What it really means is that my riding position is not correct. So even though someone might walk up and think i'm a bad ass, and think he is a wanna be it is actually the exact opposite! He is the bad ass and i'm the wanna be bad ass rider! Well im off to work on my riding technique

At the last track day, one of my "other" friends had no chicken strips, worn out edges, and nipples in the middle. I hadn't seen that before. |

I guess that I could say that I got my 'knee down' the other day. I was taking the DR off the table and forgot to raise the kickstand. As soon as it hit the corner the bike went away from me gouging a chunk of skin out of my shin and pulling me over on top of it. My knee did hit the ground as I fell over. |

I'll be honest, they bother me sometimes on my own bike, knowing that I could be a little quicker and lean a little further. At the same time, although I'm not a quick rider I don't get left too far behind so I must be doing something right... I think... And the flat section in the middle reminds me I haven't been up to Mt Glorious and Mt Mee anywhere near often enough... As for strips on someone else's bike, I couldn't care less, they're probably quicker than me anyway Well im off to work on my riding technique Ditto! |

A good rider is one who stays alive. That aint always the quick ones. I still look at mine(chicken strips) after a ride and go "What a pansie" or "Whoa, I musta been extra stupid today." |

If you're not living on the EDGE/chicken strips, you're taking up space. |

If your street ride has no chicken strips you're most likely at risk of winning some pretty huge performance awards from the local authorities. So many variables too and your normal 'strip' will vary from tire to tire too. |
