You work on your bike all day. Get EVERYTHING done. Take it for a test ride.
Its all good to go.
You clean up the garage....
Go watch some TV....
Eat....
Go to bed....
Get up and workout...
Get in the shower...... and then BING!!!

I FORGOT TO SAFETY WIRE THE DRAIN PLUGS!!

SOM-BITCH!!

Belly pan has got to come off AGAIN and get re-safety wired. Better now than after I oil the track...

Just like when the tire dude at the track mounted my front tire backwards......

I didn't notice that one, another Bueller walked by and said "Hey that tire is on backwards"
I was in the process of putting the safety wire on it that tells ya anything....

That cost me a round of practice.....

I got one worse than that- change the clutch in your 1983 Ascot (~1/2 day job) put it all back together, take it for a test ride, everything OK. Lay down at ~11 PM that night and JUST as you're drifting off to sleep think "You know, I don't remember putting that tiny little snap ring back on the clutch actuating shaft inside the primary cover. OH CRAP." Get up, go outside and find the snap ring still inside the sandwich bag where you'd carefully placed it.

Luckily, I convinced myself the snap ring was an unnecessary extra safety measure (kind of a suspenders and belt deal) and I've happily ridden the bike on-and-off for ~4 years since then without tearing it back apart to install the snap ring.

The real funny thing is I told my wife to write down "Safety wire drain plugs"

She thought I meant on her shopping list.
I got a weird look and "What the hell is safety wire drain plugs and where do I buy them?"

I got my laugh-o-the-day early today......

So, were there little white rubbermaid drain plugs for the kitchen sink, with the little chain attached, sitting on the counter?
