I was getting gas today and a motorcycle cop pulled in to ask me about the bike. He was mostly interested in reliability and how people like the Ulys because they have been approached by a local Buell dealer to order some. I guess they are seriously considering replacing the hogs with Ulys! | ||

Not that Uly couldn't be a contender, but as it is now. I think the Uly is a little "high strung", to be a serious police bike: Heat (Uly, at least mine, does not like slow speed parade like duty.) Noise (may be difficult to hear 1-Adam-12 over the fan howl.) Ride height (seen how small cops are getting lately?) Marginal electrical system(?) for operation of police bike equipment. | ||

We get our COP demo bike next week. Then it is off to do the tour rounds of the local jurisdictions. Already have an RFP for 3 from a jurisdiction that is going to use them to party bust back woods kegers. | ||

All I can say is ever see a cop ride? With what they can do on a bagger like that imagine what they can do on an uly. There is no escaping! | ||

specs show same stater and volt regulator, and charging system, they did however go to LEDs ... we will have one here next week. I will know then for sure. |
