Keep your head up. I was unemployed from May to August last year, and I know how hard it can be. Just like everyone else has said, stay close with your family and friends, otherwise it's hard to keep up the job searching. Try not to worry too much, though. I think it's safe to say that everyone here is pulling for you. |

You have a Buell Dealership of your own! Definitely pay off what you can, the stress of having to worry about having to pay bills that you don't have the money to pay sucks.
Bluzm2, all I need is a primary gasket for my 2000 m2, I was going to replace the tensioner while I had it off also but have put it on hold because of bills. It does bite though, it is my primary transportation since the wife gets the family truck for the kids. Newblaster you are right, I have never known a better group of guys and most of them I have never seen before.

I noticed that you have the Dahm triplets in your profile. Did you know that they are from Minnesota, my home state? I saw them at Twin Cities Harley earlier this year. They are pretty cute!  |

That's actually pretty good news, Ken. Getting in front of people is half the battle, at least in my experience. It looks like you've got that situation under control.

The postman was very good to me yesterday, it was kinda like Christmas. My service was off for a few days but is back up for now so you might have mail. If I have to cut it loose again (which I more than likely will) I do have access to another computer. Just not as often....My web email address is p.c.tek@wowmail.com if anyone wants to drop me a line and the regular one doesn't work.
The battle, well its going as good as can be expected. Turned down daily for jobs, but I am trying. I will not falter!!

As Phillyblast said the fact that your getting out and in front of people is good news.
In March of 2002 I was terminated after our company was "integrated" with a larger one. I was probably in the worst possible position to go looking for a job: white male, age 51. But after 9 weeks I landed with another company and today am as well off (if not better) than I was before.
The sad thing is this crap happens to people everyday and has unfortunately become the norm.
My advice is to keep positive and to NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! It works. Tell EVERYONE you come across that your looking for a job. Maybe they can't help you but they may mention you to someone who can, or to someone who knows someone who can.
Being out of work sucks, but having your health and a positive attitude goes a long way toward helping to solve that problem. It may not seem like it now but things do work out for the better.
Let us know when you start your new job.

Got off my butt myself last week - as Crank said, I NETWORKED. Called some folks that I knew, let them know I was looking for a job, so happens they have an open position to fill, so I'm in the running. I'll hear back in the next week or so, keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm also going up to CT at the end of the month to visit some friends, and bringing a suit and advance-forwarding a resume for his co. Can't hurt. I had to overcome feeling like I was imposing on people by calling them, as it turns out, everyone I've talked to has been pleasantly surprised I am available, and willing to talk, even if they don't have anything open. The more you get yourself out there, the better.

Guys, I need a favor from someone. The Dept. of Children and Families needs the value of my 2000 M2 before food stamps can be issued to my family. The problem is, it needs to be a low value and on something "official" like Buell or Harley letterhead. Can anyone or does anyone know anyone that can help me?

They won't take Kelly Blue Book?
HD/Buell won't officially comment on something like that. 'Course a dealership might give you a written quote on resale value, and their letter head would look official. |

Take it to an insurance adjuster, they like to lowball totals a bit if they are on the paying end. At least they do based on my experience, try 10cents a mile on top of yearly depreciation for starters.
You could do an assessment of ended e-bay sales for similar bikes to show what the current market value seems to be of bikes that have actually sold as opposed to "asking" prices of listed book values. Dealerships also have their NADA type yellow books that they may let you photocopy a page out of, and those prices seem to be based on current trade street values. Just take it in to a dealership and ask for a written trade-in value on a new stock no options sportster and see if the agency will accept that. |

Got the lowball from the Honda Dealer, 3000.00 and to top it off he told me I would be lucky to get that out of it. What a jerk!
Getting enrolled in school with a little assistance from the gubment. Still looking for work as well.
