Dana, do your self and your son a favor and put the pics back up. There are a lot of
people that would like to see them. I know that I've told people to check them out
and now I look like a jerk for sending them to look at non-existent pictures.
This is the internet and some people will always talk trash. I know that you love your
son and want to protect him from abuse, but you have to remember that the opinions you
receive on the internet must be weighed against the character of the person commenting.
If you do not hold the person in high esteem then the comment should not be regarded
as important.
You are a good father trying to protect his son, but be careful that you don't go too
far trying to protect him and end up isolating him from opportunities. For instance
on this very thread there have been questions about commisioning paint jobs that would
not have happened if the pics had not been posted.
Think about it Dana. I hope the pics come back. |

Brian,
I completely understand what your saying. But understand my Son can and knows how to take criticism and so can I. What he doesn't need is someone that went out of the way to do it. What this thread did is went on and on and on. Partly my fault. Now it won't if the reason for it is gone. |

I get that your offended. I do. But exactly who are you teaching a lesson to by pulling the pics? Isn't that the equivalent of saying "I'm taking my ball and going home!"
Everyone raved about the pics. I'd like to see them. Others would like to see them. Don't punish us because you didn't like ONE comment by someone who is KNOWN for making rude comments, about some simple grammar thing.
If I busted my ass and did something I was proud of, I'd want the world to see it, and screw some insensitive comment.

1) There's a history between them that isn't really pleasant
2) When a guy posts pics of something his child made for EB, why try to start something?
3) We have a PM system, use that, it's just effective. The only reason to point that out publicly is to start a pissing match. |

Speaking of bikes... i had the chance to talk to Erik at the Boiler room and asked him what he likes to ride.... He said the Uly is his favorite bike then the 1125R.
He told Scott and I the same thing when we talked to him for a bit in the pits at Road America. I had mentioned to him that if I had to pick only one of my three Buells, it would be the Uly and his response was that he liked and rode that one more than his other bikes - it can do it all. 
I got on my Firebolt today to bring it in to get the headlight recall going, and man, what a totally different ride. I felt really awkward on it after riding my XT around for a week and a half.
Back on topic, Dana, you've got a really talented son, that artwork is awesome! |

EXACTLY. Which everyone knows Tramp likes to do. Why feed into that? Why turn it into an even bigger thing! The way we treat kids who act this way is to IGNORE it.
Not make an even bigger deal out of it by pulling the pics. That just encourages him.
Pissing matches only work if more than one person pees. If only one person is pissing, well, then it's just some guy, pissing in the wind.
Sorry to mix the pee metaphors.

Dana: It's all good, just trying to lend you my perspective on things. As I said before
on a different thread your son did some impressive work, and having spent time air brushing,
?I know just how hard he worked and how much time he invested.
It's just a shame more people won't get to see it in better resolution than what is posted
now. It's the details that make a great paint job after all (as you are obviously aware)
and the attention to detail isn't evident in the camera-phone pictures.
Also, if Dana does not want them posted can everyone please refrain from posting any
further pictures of his son's work? |

Yes, this thread is corrupted beyond hope of recovery I think. Too much pee talk anyway. :P
Maybe we could petition the admins to remove the entire thread, and start a whole new one with the pictures posted (by the original poster, of course, if he agrees) so it's like it never happened? Then we could all be happy again?

Count me as punished for something I had no part in.
Can't see enough of the paint job to even comment and this is among the lamest of threads and I've seen some bad ones on the Jap bike sites.
Taking my ball and going home....geez. |
