Gomo floated an excellent idea: Have this year's run on Saturday (weekend before Hallowe'en, as always) instead of a Sunday. I certainly like it- any thoughts? last year's run shirts still available, by the way. |

I think it's an excellent idea. Allows a little flexibility for those who may need to travel a bit, and doesn't force anyone to make a run for home after riding all day. |

I've always(since i met youse) wanted to stay at the Bear Mt. Inn. |

The Inn, proper, is closed indefinitely (renovation work uncovered muchos asbestos), but the far-cooler cliff house lodges (up the mountain higher, on the bridge side of the lake) are in full gear. Beautiful WPA buildings of stone, each building has 6 individual hotel rooms at $100- apiece, easy enough to sleep two without any hands going between any pillows. I'll ask them to keep a block of 6 rooms open for us, and participants can call in and reserve individual rooms before the event. |

I think those are the ones i meant. The lodges with common areas? The one where you enter right by the traffic circle? |

That's them Duc- they're really cool, aren't they? We just did a visit there, to check them out for the event. Holly took a bunch of pictures of them, and the sales folks said they could hold them when we decide. We walked from the lodges to the traffic circle at the bridge- took about 2 minutes, yet you don't hear the traffic from them Jeff- that's GREAT! If Danbury will offer the same sponsorship and advertising as last year, that would be schweet.. I was really impressed with the crew that came from Danbury...even a Conn. cruiser club tagged along. I'm just not too sure about T-shirts: despite the orders we took, we were left with about 30 extras, taking up space in my storage unit. I did score a great liability policy for this year, too. Same peeps who write our historical society's policy. (Message edited by tramp on July 02, 2008) |

I'm already considering route ideas. I'm thinking maybe a local group that rides the local twisties along a similar route as last year, and maybe a longer distance sport-touring group that wants to see a bit more of the Hudson Valley. Or maybe a longer ride on Saturday, and local twisty shredding on Sunday. The possibilities are infinite. |

Put me on the short list of possibly's. The desire is there, I am just not sure. I am being flown(sp) out to my inlaws in Florida to drive their moving van back so my boss may notlet me go in October also. It might work though, fly in Friday or Thursday, fly out Sunday for the homestead. The possibilities are finite!} |

Harley-Davidson/Buell of Danbury would be happy to do the same things we did last year. You all did a GREAT JOB in 2007 and I look forward helping out any way I can in 2008. Jeff |

Great- I really like Johhny LB's idea of two different runs- a twisty run one day and a tourist run on another. One of the really good reasons is that we could take a nice cruise up to "The Gunks", and grab a light meal at The Mountain Brauhaus underneath the climbing rocks. The views and big-radius sweeping curves are really heavenly, up there, well within an hour of Bear Mountain. On the other day (before or after) we could do our twistier, more spirited run. Cochise- You have plenty of advance warning- try to come up, this year. A Blake sighting would round things out, nicely. A Spidey & Psyclone sighting would be too cool. |

Done. We're taking a nice, laid back tour up to the gunks on one of the two days, then. We can take 44/55 down into the next valley, too. On the sportier day, we'll stick around closer to Harriman State park. I think that the laid-back day might be better for the first day, and the sportier day for the second; I could certainly be wrong on this- Ideas? |

If you decide on the Gunk 44/55 run for Saturday we could possibly meet in Highland and start the ride from there. I know a bunch of great back roads, perhaps with a cruise through Woodstock then back down to Highland for a regroup in the afternoon. Just a thought |

NOT a problem. With the heavy load you carried, last run, consider your '08 shirt ordered & paid for. It'll just be great to see you and your crew again, Livnlo....and your shirt will be here for you. |

A Halloween run?!? Sounds like a perfect time to invade the other coast, grab a damn rented Bunny suit and rail the twisties. Y'all on the other side of the Rockies seem to have the events.... damn long commute. |

Please come out...go easy with the bunny suit, though...some of the participants get a tad frisky the night before... So frisky the crack of dawn had better watch out, frankly. |
