1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves (muddle with sugar at bottom of glass)
Top shelf rum(2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda

Put the sugar in the bottom of the glass, the mint leaves, and the lime juice, and crush it together (muddling, there’s a special wooden stick available to do it), pour your booze in and sode on top, mix it if you want.

I'll make'em if you supply the booze.

Thump is on the right track.

Here is a few things i do when I make the cuban highball.

I muddle mint/lime slice/sugar all together.

I use regular granulated sugar it grinds the mint/lime well. I kinda like the texture.

I like a good light/silver rum. I mostly use Bacardi

I also use 7-up instead of club soda. I never use sprite.

Serve in a Collins glass with ice. Garnish w/ lime and mint leaves

Instead of using powdered or granulated sugar, get carmelized sugar cane sticks, and use it as a muddler/stirrer that you can leave in the drink.

I have a large porcelin pitcher I make mine in.

I actually use the Monin liquid sugar in preparing mine. I muddle a whole package of fresh mint with a little bit of regular sugar, cut up the limes and put the whole concoction in the pitcher with the Bacardi rum.

Fill a glass with ice, pour from the pitcher and top with a splash of club soda.

The first time I made them our neighbors from the across the street came over and we polished off a pitcher in short order (my wife doesn't drink, so it was divided between 3 of us). The wife got very wasted and was especially friendly to me which pissed off my wife and her husband.

In hindsight I guess she was paying me all of the attention and ignoring everyone else. She came over the next day and said she would never drink my Mojitos again. She said they really snuck up on her. LOL!!!

I went to some dacquiri shack in Panama City, Florida and got a 32oz mojito. I had never had one in my life, but I had just heard it referenced in "The Family Guy". Mojito... mojito.

Worst drink I ever had in my life. Thanks a lot Brian Griffin.

Life Lesson #238 - never get drink recommendations from animated talking dogs.

And, when Mojitos don't do it for you anymore...

The Caipirinha

The stronger, rougher Brazilian cousin of the Mojito. No foo-foo mint or soda here! Just lime, sugar and booze.
Cachaça to be specific. These WILL kick ass in short order!

Add one Sage leaf to cut down the sweetness of the Mojito. Muddle with the mint leaves.
Makes it perfect.

Well, I took Thump's advice and I'm still reeling today yet! My muddling needs work as the spaces between my teeth looked like I just ate poop.

thanks all.
